Wigan Athletic gave Charles permission to talk with Birmingham City and the question of why? that I asked must have been rattling through his head as it seems that talks have fell apart in the Midlands.
All the noises coming out of Birmingham are pointing at Charles N’Zogbia not pursuing the interest made in him by Alex McLeish. The Scottish manager of the blues has been hounding the Frenchman, trying to get him to make a move to the midlands.
I’ll wait til it is confirmed, but as previously said, this was always only going to be a sideways move at best – McLeish thought Palacious was crap for goodness sake. The deal isn’t done yet and as the reports are coming through that it could well be another agent looking for a bit of commission, I hope he doesn’t do anything drastic.
Reality though might have kicked in for Charles on his way down the M6, he may have remembered that Latics were the ones taking a big risk by taking him away from his Newcastle hell. He could well want to be part of a growing young club not an aged under acheiving one. We will see over the next couple of days for sure.
IF he has decided to stay with us, lets hope he can reclaim some of his form that he showed last year and gain a bit more consistency (that could well go for the team as well)
