Policing at Football Grounds
Police at Football
One thing is for certain, if there is ever trouble at a game, the Police are certain to be there controlling it or in some eyes causing it.
Many fans think Policing is ‘Over the Top’ and that for generations the Police have treated football fans as a punching bag. There are of course many that think the opposite, that they don’t do enough or are not strong enough.
We have always seen rules that only apply to football games and football fans, but for no other sports or their fans…… is this fair and also is this where we are in modern day football?
No matter what your view, if fans don’t have their say, nothing will happen and policing will stay the same. I personally think policing at matches has got better, though you do still see some power mad individuals that will target football fans as hooligans.
Here is a link for you to have your say, good, bad or indifferent.
‘The UK Football Policing Unit would like to seek your views on policing at football fixtures and have created a survey to ask for your thoughts based on your experiences of attending football.
If you have any queries with the survey please contact the UKFPU directly via partnership@fpu.pnn.police.uk.
The survey can be accessed via this link https://www.homeofficesurveys.homeoffice.gov.uk/s/UKFPUFANSURVEY/’’
