Wigan Athletic’s gaffer is to do another first by having a live chat vis the new ‘CoverItLive’ chatroom on the official site, read on to see how you can take part.

Latics manager Roberto Martinez will be answering fans’ questions, live and exclusive only on the club’s official website, wiganathletic.com, on Thursday afternoon, between 3.00 p.m. and 4.00 p.m..

For the first time ever, the club will be taking advantage of our brand new online chatroom, CoverItLive, for fans to put their questions direct to the gaffer.

The new console will go live from 2.30 p.m. to enable supporters to get questions in early, then the manager will start responding live from 3.00 p.m. for around an hour, with the questions and answers all appearing on the website.

So whatever it is you want to get to ask the manager, you can. You set the agenda.

Roberto Martinez said: "This is a fantastic example of the club being able to use new technology to improve communication with the supporters, and as ever I am more than happy to sit down and answer questions. I am looking forward to it."

Although I think the Suppporters Club would disagree, as usually their members are usually allowed an audience via a ‘Fans Forum’, this has always been the norm for these sort of things and is usually more effective as the manager is there in front of their faces.

There has been a promise of a Forum this season but as yet it hasn’t materialised and I have to wonder if this is what the Club is going to use instead of it and therefore deprive the Supporters Club Members thier chance to pose questions in an open format.

Not everybody is on the internet and so can’t get involved this way, so let’s see whether anything is arranged.
