Well here we have an alternative for you and it is not just for fans of Wigan Athletic either, it is a common cause to help give someone a better life. The last event was a massive success and we want to build on that with your help.

What is it you normally do on a Friday night, Chippy tea followed by double Corrie then whatever rubbish the kids want to watch?

Well, if you’re of a Soulful disposition why not do something different for a change and get yourself down to the Whelley Ex Serviceman’s Club, Vauxhall Road, Scholes (behind the Indian) on Friday the 25th of February.

You can hear only the finest in Northern and Crossover soul courtesy of the Orrell Soul Club an First Avenue resident DJ’s and what’s more, it’s all for a great cause – the Anthony Ramsdale Appeal Fund, helping raise funds for a severely disabled Wigan lad.

Talc flinging starts at 7:30pm and the bar is till 12

It’s a fiver on the door but get there early as the last one was absolutely rammed. Over 250 people packed in last time out and raised an incredible £2,330 to help buy a specialised chair for severely disabled Latics fan Anthony Ramsdale.

This time, we’re looking to go even bigger and help towards the cost of a specialist vehicle for Anthony so we need everyone who went first time round to either get there on the night or give as much as you can towards the cause.

If you can’t make it but would like to donate to this wonderful cause anyway, look to the right hand side of the Latics United website page. There you’ll see a “Donate” button – click that & simply fill in the amount.
