The deal is done, a new era for Wigan Athletic
Wigan Athletic Officially OUT OF ADMINISTRATION
The news we have all been waiting for is finally here, Latics have been bought and are under new ownership.
We have been waiting a long time for this announcement and we wold like to thank the efforts of the Supporters Club and everyone that have worked tirelessly over the last 9 months to make sure our fantastic football club survived.
Cockney Latic Admin and members have been just a few of the army of people that have contributed in a positive way to the quest for ensuring our future. Jimmy from Mudhutter – Simon, Barry and the Adams at Progress with Unity and of course the Supporters Club core of Caroline Molyneux and Adam Conroy and Club SLO Jason Taylor.
Back on July 1st, Wigan Athletic Football Club’s world collapsed with the announcement that we had been put into Administration. No warning, no time to sort it out ourselves, just a straight administration, whilst the club at that time had no debt.
We can speculate about it being lost in a game of poker, or the much more realistic view that we were doing well and the owners put a bet on us to get relegated, enough to recoup his losses and some.
In time there will hopefully be an investigation and the truth will out, even the EFL will have to answer to why a banned director and bankruptee passed that OADT (Owners and Directors test).
But for now lets languish in the joy of having new progressive owners that are going to listen to the fans and guide us to better place.
The final completion of the EFL Board Approval should be within the next 2 weeks.
