How do the experts see Wigan Athletic’s game against Manchester United, let’s have a look at how the pundits and bookies see this game going at the weekend….
Mark Lawrenson has gone for a 3-0 Manchester United win at the Old Trafford on Saturday. The BBC pundit is currently lying 7th in the Cockney Latic Prediction League and that shows that he knows his stuff.
He said about his prediction; they remain unbeaten at home, but this Manchester United team, by their own very high standards, have played some average football this year at Old Trafford. They are starting to get one or two players back from injury, which will help them.
If Wayne Rooney is fit it will be a big boost. Rooney is a world class footballer and is a huge asset. But what will be interesting is what the reaction of the supporters will be to him?
Just when you think Wigan are starting to sink again and have a poor result, they come up with another win – the latest against West Brom at the weekend.
They keep doing it on a regular basis. However, having seen Wigan I do not think they are a team who are capable of closing out matches. Their better players are their more attacking players and by playing defensively you would have to restrict those individuals which does not make sense. It will be an open game, which is why I think United will beat them quite easily.
Of the Prediction League users (sponsored by Workit Recruitment) 16% are going for 3-0 to Manchester United, 7/1 on Betfair. It is no doubt a massive game for United as well as us as they haven’t really performed yet this season,
But as we have proved lately, we generally play better against the big teams and with the incentive of a first win over the Reds coupled with the enormous pressure they will feel, we will hopefully give them a game and get a result.
Betfair, the fastest growing betting site in the UK, they have it going the way of a 2-0 Manchester victory with odds of 6/1, 2-0 to the Latics is at 140/1 and 2-1 to Latics an 60/1 punt.
We are favourites to lose game at 1/4, but if you think we’ll nick we have odds of 18/1. So if betting is something you do, maybe a try of Betfair is something to consider.
Registration is easy, the odds are usually better than anywhere else (if there not you can ask for better) and to round it off, if your first bet loses they will refund it for you up to the value of £25. For instance, if you have £25 on Latics to beat United at 18/1 you will be paid £475, if Latics don’t win – you get your £25 back.
