According to Vital there will be a press conference at Everton on Tuesday to annouce Martinez as their new manager, they are claiming to have found out from a contact at the Liverpool Echo.
They go on to say the Echo will be running the story online on monday. Please don’t shoot the messenger.
19 May 2013 at 6:16 am #113877Wouldn’t be surprised if it was true as he’s dropped a few hints in recent comments, can’t say i’d be overly disappointed really, i’ll always be grateful for the cup win but he had a 3 year plan and i don’t remember relegation being part of that, i just hope he’s replaced with someone of proven quality like Di Matteo and i would wish bob all the best .

Might be true, might not be but hasn’t he stated that the original Monday after the season has finished meeting that he always has wih Whelan is now being held on Tuesday & it’s only then that he’ll make any decision
It would seem a bit hard faced to do that & then leap straight into the car to goodison to make public a deal which would quite clearly have been discussed, signed & sealed whilst the season was still ongoing?

Here we go again!
He’s in Florida.
He’s at Villa Park.
Liverpool have made an offer.
Blah blah blah blah blah.I read that he wanted a week after the emotion of Sunday and Monday’s FA Cup parade to have a clear head before sitting down with DW a week on Monday.
I’ve also read that Everton have made no approach and would not do so until after the season has ended.
I also read and article saying Liverpool were after Callum and James ‘thy and then another one saying it was Callum and James ‘thur.
All gossip and rumour like the media circus last summer. We’ll know when we know. Save the brainpower until then.
19 May 2013 at 12:34 pm #113883I know a lot of everton fans (like liverpool fans from last season) who dont think he’s good enough.

19 May 2013 at 3:57 pm #113894When Martinez first arrived we had trouble scoring & a crap defence, slowly he as rectified the goal scoring dept, but failed miserably with the defence hence our relegation, like previous posters have said before, the cup win was fantastic but the league form for quite a while especially at home as been shocking, time for a change for him & us.

no disrespect to Dennis Lawrence, but from what I remember, he has never played at the top level , so is it time to bring in someone with PL and International experience?.
From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!19 May 2013 at 4:06 pm #113897I’ve heard that Phil Neville is getting the Everton job.
19 May 2013 at 4:10 pm #113898If the defence coach is at fault like you say he should be a gonner, but the manager must be culpable in this and his appointment as coach in the first place
19 May 2013 at 4:16 pm #113899Wigan were never going to find life easy in the Premier League.
And the serious injuries to defenders this season made their task almost impossible.
One thing I do know – we’ll never have a season like this again.
Thanks, Roberto.
