I don’t know about rumours but that was a disgusting way to treat paying customers and young players whose confidence must have taken a right bashing.
No sign of Cook, and any squad players either. Where were they? Bonding on a beach with a few pints? with Saturday’s game conveniently postponed.
Wasted opportunity for the likes of Bruce,Roberts,Perkins,Grigg and Colclough to get some game time.
Really disappointed after that. Thanks to the young lads for the effort but they wouldn’t half have benefited with the aforementioned players playing alongside them.Everyone who went tonight should get one simple as that.

Decided that with us still being in the FA Cup maybe this meaningless cup is surplus to requirements what with us being 2nd in the league and that. Too many cooks and all that ( No pun intended! )
Playing a team so far removed from the first team was totally disrespectful to Stanley, the competion and most importantly the fans.
There was simply no need to play so many youngsters in one match when we have so many fringe players who have had little or no game time.
I am in favour of blooding younsters in this competition, but the side tonight were completly out of their depth and I can’t see it doing much good for their confidence.
That said, Luke Burgess stood out and was probably the best player on the park and Tyler Golden and young Merrie look like they could have a future in football, The rest struggled to make an impression.Now now people, you cant have it all ways.
You were telling me a week ago that you will gladly hand over your money to watch Wigan, whatever the line up as its Latics playing in a competitive match. Some had the nerve to aim not so subtle digs at me for my choice of boycotting the games in this Checkashite cup. Some even tried to belittle me. Oh dear.

Not at all VAT, when you have watched Latics for as long as me you get used to the odd fuck up, and tonight was one of those fuck ups.
I still enjoyed my evening out as I would have had to suffer ‘The Pride of Britain Awards’ if I had stayed at home. On the plus side, the stewards opened the gates for us to have a fag at half time.More importantly than everything else though, your beloved burger vans weren’t there again and I had to queue for a pie, that really took the piss.
