Are we mad ?, if he took a 50% pay cut he’d still be one of the highest paid players at the club.
I’m sorry but, after nearly seeing us play the likes of Daisy Hill were slowly heading back into the huge wage bill club we once were.

New owners or no new owners it will be us who will have to pick up the pieces if and when it does go t1ts up not James McClean. We need to take a leaf out of Boltons book and cut your cloth to suit and steer clear of the likes of McClean who are looking for their last decent pay day contract.

Avoid him like the plague I’d say, I’d sooner bring in youth than him and build for next year

For 99% of the support, I’d say that he’s a toxic terrorist-supporting piece of shit who any club should stay well clear of, and will be a drain on finances and morale, because he will divide opinion.

For Stupid Stu, I’d say he’s a perfect signing – a Cnut for a Cnut.

He’s a good player, but loads of baggage and am not sure the wages will justify what he could give us in this league.

With all the talk of James McClean coming back does that mean Tom Pearce is on his way ? or has he got a long term injury ?

He was overated first time and couldn’t cross a ball besides being expensive and a total waste of space. Avoid this Mon and keep the support on your side Leam. Many fans can not abide him and his views. Keep him away.

Just hope he gets on with the job and keeps his head down. Can’t be doing with all the baggage that comes with this fella. When we have a game near Rememberence Sunday and the team have poppies on their shirts the best outcome for all concerned is that he develops a mysterious injury and can’t play.It will stop all the controversy and negative publicity.

He wont keep his head down for long because he’s a thick prick and thinks this sort of stuff is acceptable:

I bet Jordan Jones is underwhelmed that he’s stuck with that tool as a teammate…

Bookmark 26 February as it will properly kick off between the travelling fans and McLean, as they truly fucking despise him. It would have been spicy already with three former players at Wigan, but having that prick there to abuse brings it to a Phall level.

Cue 90 minutes of “Fuck the IRA” if he’s on the pitch.

Christ. You’re like a bad smell.

Good player at this level, bit daft off the field like but it’s a free country. As long as he does the bizzo on the pitch.

                Well said, Stu.

PLEASE GET A BREW AND HAVE A READ…

Look, regarding James and the Poppy Thing. Inthink Latics is the only club where the fans haven’t abused him.
Regarding his beliefs, and if you are a little Englander who still thinks this countey is the sceptered isle and can do no wrong, the following piece will ne wasted on you anyway. But for anyone open and considerate minded, here we go….
I first went to Derry 2 years ago. Derry. Not Londonderry. Derry. Thats the original name…actually in Gaelic its Doire…which means “Oak Grove” or an grove surrounded by oaks. It was only the protestant English who added the London pre-fix in the 1600’s.
But back to James and his beliefs. James Mclean was born in Derry. He grew up in an area called Creggan, one of the biggest housing post war build housing estates in Europe. If you are imagining a dump, no its not. Far from it. The houses arent bad at all, and most are nicely presented. Its a catholic area, where people moved to from the slums of the Bogside and Brandywell areas, which are below Creggan, which climbs steeply on a hillside to the West of the City. Being Catholic, it is a very Republican area. James grew up in a city of the troubles, although the young James will only have been young for the tale end of it, which was, for the most part, ended by the Good Friday Agreement in 1997. However, historical events did nothing other than build up anti British resentment. None more so than the events of 30th January 1972, an event known as ‘Bloody Sunday’. A Civil Rights march for the people to demand better rights for the Catholic community, after decades of Gerrymandering (protestants having more voting rights than catholics), ended up in tragedy when soldiers of the 1st Battalion the Parachute Regiment were ordered into the Bogside area to disperse the crowds. Now, Im not saying rocks werent thrown that day, its clear they were, but for the soldiers to go in and respond with live firing…shocking. they went in that day at just after 4pm, and by 4.20pm they had fired off 108 rounds, killing 13 unharmed civilians in the process, with another dying later from his wounds. Most were young lads, 17 to 20 years of age.
Now, much has been made recently of the Soldier F case. Having researched it, I retraced his footsteps that day. He is charged with killing 2 civillians. In fact, he is known to have killed at least 3 more of the victims. Ballistic tests and witness testaments, including from British soldiers, confirmed this. But he was only getting charged with two killings, one of which he shot again as they lay wounded. The last person he killed that day was 41 year old civil Rights March steward, Barney Mcguigan. He had left the shelter of a wall at the corner of the Rossville Flats, to go to the aid of another man who had been shot, Paddy Doherty. Waving a white handkerchief, with his hands in the air, he was shot through the head by Soldier F and died instantly. I stood at the spot where Soldier F had fired from. It was 30 yards at most. A trained marksman at peak fitness…must have seen the man was unharmed? Ive no doubt at all.
Barney Mcguigan lived in Creggan. So did severl of the other victims. All of the murdered had a joint funeral at St Marys Church, Creggan. The whole community turned out. Overnight, IRA recruitment soared, such was the outburst of anger at what had happened. ‘Bloody Sunday’, starring James Nesbitt, does a great job of telling the story. 4 months after Bloody Sunday, the British Army went in to the Bogside and Creggan en masse, to re take the areas that had become no go areas. More innocent lives were to be lost over the following years..14, 15 year old kids, Manus Derry 15, Daniel Hegarty 15, Annette McGavigan 14…as she walked home from school, a woman shot in her back garden in the Creggan. Lots of things. Is it any wonder there was anti British resentment? I spoke to some interesting people in Derry. An old guy who had been interned without trial, and had known Bobby Sands. He said to me “most like myself, weren’t even in the IRA when we were interned. But we were by the time we got out”. He also said that there have been “wrongs on both sides”, which is true. He also said he had been at the IRA funeral in yhe late 80s where the two British Army Corporals had mistakenly driven into the crown and been set upon and murdrered. He said “there was no need for that at all”.
Derry today, is a great city. A forward thinking city, but also one that will forever have the scars of its history. Its actually a very nice place. If you were an idiot and went round shooting ‘ingerland’ and all that, you’d definitely get spoken to. Its a very Republican city, without doubt.

This is the background of where James Mclean comes from. Therefore its understandable why he does not want to wear a poppy. He is very proud of where he comes from, and the place that madr him. Respect. We at Latics have supported James like no other clubs fans have done.

For me it’s nothing to do with his ability or his off the field antics or even what he brings to the table in experience, for me its all about how much dollar bill and what cost it the club for 12 months. It’s all well being having a Chairman who puts his money were his mouth is (seems a decent guy hands on) but we should no better and be ultra cautious as they can pull the rug whenever they feel like it with a simple “We’ve no money”.
There’s no law to say you have to use the funds you show the EFL when taking over a club you only have to prove its there not spend it. We also paid a fee for McClean, anyone know how much ?. I’ll show may starfish out the Wetherspoons windows Saturday if he’s on anything less than 10k a week, 5k too much for me for a 32 year old on a 1 year deal. It’s money that should have been used elsewhere.

Also we better get the turnstile fiasco sorted asap especially for the Bolton game. Why not open the big blue gates and quick scan with handhelds like the South Stand ?, no queuing there last 2 games.

Theyre definitely going to have to be spot in with the turnstiles on Tuesday or it miggt be a right fiasco. Last thing they need with 5000 cow yeds turning up is a load of Latics fans locked outside.

I predict now kick off will be delayed.

Possibly because those of you who grew up in the 1980s are pretty good at bearing a grudge and passing it on through generations.

Compare a Latics fan or James McLean with the monkeys in the “5 monkeys and a ladder psychological trial”, where the UK or Wigan Warriors are the bananas at the top of the ladder. You are reaching a situation where the young monkeys have replaced the old monkeys, but still hate the bananas, because “Its what we do”.

You go the game last night mutty or were you helping your daughter move house again?
