So come on then all you lot who are slagging JM off. How many of you were fans of Maradona ? One of the biggest pieces of shit ever to put boots on but all was forgiven because of his talent. There has been many many players down the years who were not very nice people but had a great career in the game. If JM has a blinding season and scores shit loads of goals he will have done the job he is paid to do. Let’s see what happens. COYL

Ste, it works both ways mate, if he gets/keeps his head down plays well, scores goals then fine, if he starts his shenanigans again in November then thats when fans will have a pop at him, he should keep politics out of it and like you say, do what he’s paid to do.
Fuck the EFL
22 August 2021 at 2:30 pm #193510Keep all political, religeous and other contensious issues out of the game altogether. Remove poppys from all shirts and stop taking the knee etc. It is sport, there is enough trouble in the world without football inadvertently fuelling it.
22 August 2021 at 3:08 pm #193511Keep the Poppy on the shirt, keep the minutes silence as well, its only once a year we remember our fallen heroes, not every other day like taking the knee.
Lest we forget.
Fuck the EFL
22 August 2021 at 4:18 pm #193516He hates this country and what we stand for, quite happy to take pound sterling every month though.
If he doesnt want to wear the Poppy fair enough but to turn your back during the minutes silence is unforgivable, and mark my words he’ll do it again if selected near to remembrance day.
Fuck the EFL
22 August 2021 at 5:22 pm #193517Give your head a wobble bullitt lad. Why is he going to stand there and respect a minutes silence in memory of people who literally murdered innocent people in his hometown?
Its ok for people to be racially abused (or any other form of abuse) daily but not to stand against it daily?
22 August 2021 at 5:36 pm #193518If he carries on where he left off yesterday day he can stand on his head for me.

You’re probably right horc, but sport has such a wide audience that it’s almost the perfect place to do it.
Let’s try and keep it off here though and discuss his on field actions. He was superb yesterday in his little cameo.

But its ok for him to flaunt his beliefs over here and support cowards that bombed innocent people in Warrington etc, you deserve a kick in the bollocks for that comment. Absolute dickhead!
Fuck the EFL
22 August 2021 at 6:51 pm #193521As much as it pains me to say it, I will….
Well said Bullitt.
22 August 2021 at 6:54 pm #193522It’s a free country. He can support who he wants whether we agree or not.
If you moved to Ireland, would you respect a minutes silence for the IRA or the 1916 uorising or bloody sunday?

22 August 2021 at 7:04 pm #193525Any player wearing the Wigan Athletic shirt get gets my full support for 90mins (plus injury time). For those 90 mins nothing else matters.
22 August 2021 at 8:43 pm #193527Hypothetically, would you support Adam Johnson if he was signed for you?
22 August 2021 at 9:33 pm #193529It’s a free country. He can support who he wants whether we agree or not.
Yes it is a free country our fallen heroes died so you could say that, that is why it is important we remember them by wearing a poppy and observing a minutes silence once a year.
Sometimes the wearing of the blue and white shirt of Wigan Athletic clouds the fans judgement, McClean’s actions should not be ignored no matter how well he plays or how many goals he scores!
Fuck the EFL
