There is another international break in November too, does this mean a day out in Morecambe is to be ditched too?
4 October 2021 at 2:18 pm #194246looking that way
4 October 2021 at 7:36 pm #194248A pity for Morecambe who would probably have welcomed the money a hefty 2-3000 strong Latics following would have brought to them.
Can reduce that quite a bit if they cancel this one given how tricky it can be to drive there in a rush hour, I know that from working up
that way a few years ago.
A shame as I
Am sure many marked that one down for a weekend away , day out in Lancaster etc.
Surely the clubs should have moved this one for a less favourable fixture , I thought they had options to do this ?7 October 2021 at 9:59 am #194276We can only wait and see I suppose. It only clogs up our season a bit by postponing them too, as we have to re-arrange to a Tuesday sometime so we have more weeks of playing twice a week.
FA Cup Winners 2013, sounds good that
12 October 2021 at 10:39 pm #194312Just get the game played anway despite call ups. Its time every club did. Bloody ruins the season all this stop go nonsense.
13 October 2021 at 7:29 am #194314Now that NI cant qualify, it might be possible to have a word with their manager about not picking Keane & Jones.
13 October 2021 at 8:25 am #194315I’d be surprised if he picks Keane. What with him being a Republic of Ireland player.
13 October 2021 at 9:52 am #194316Apologies, I meant to include both Irelands – Southern Ireland long-since failed to qualify, and I dont see much value in picking Keane to get whipped by Portugal.
Note I left McClean out – I think he should play for his country next game. As the next round of internationals are close to Remembrance Day, its probably better he was nowhere near an English ground that is remembering the fallen.
13 October 2021 at 11:20 am #194319Give it a rest mate
29 October 2021 at 4:41 pm #194520Well apparently it has – because Morecambe have three players away on international duty!!!
29 October 2021 at 4:47 pm #194528Another good day out wrecked.
29 October 2021 at 9:14 pm #194540Bloody pathetic, if there has to be an International break, then it should only be for teams who have 3 or more players on international duty for England.
30 October 2021 at 10:36 am #194545We lose games because we lose 4 or 5 of our players every 4 weeks and the first thing people will do is moan.
30 October 2021 at 11:21 am #194546Players always managed to play internationals in midweek and then back to the league on Saturday, why can’t they carry on doing that.
If its a long trip, then don’t go to play if you can’t be arsed, and stop playing internationals over the weekend, it isn’t necessary.
As for it improving the standard of the international team, well, that hasn’t worked has it, the performance in the last international was apalling.30 October 2021 at 12:20 pm #194547Well in 2018 we made our first WC SF since 1990 and this year our first final since 1966 so things are on the up.
As I always say when rugby fans moan about things not being the same as the good old days…..times have changed.
I’ve no problem with us missing games if we have players good enough to play for their country. Rather that than play a 2nd string or be a crap side.
