Whelan should take a long hard look at Notts County and see that with a bit of ambition you can attract people who dont really belong at a club so low down. If they actually do what Whelan did and take them all the way to the top in 10 years is another thing, but then Al Fayeed did it alot quicker than him.
If Whelan was setting out now would he have done the same?
not a chance hes just not up to speed at the highest level anymore, if he was then teams would have been sniffing round and he wouldnt have gone to notts county.
