We lost to the richest club in the world by a single goal.
The manager’s half time team talk and subs worked and we troubled them in the second half.
After the game Mancini describes Martinez as a fantastic manager.
Joe Hart describes our league position as false.
Gary Neville gave Joe Hart man of the match for his save from McCarthy.
Not such a bad result was it?

Wigan are there own worst enemy, they keep getting themselves in trouble sometimes you have to go long.
How frustrating, free kick, chance to put some pressure on City and they pass backwards putting themselves under pressure.
Yes we played well in the 2nd half and yes they are the richest club in the world but was Joe Hart really better than Ali – No chance?
We had 1 shot again for all our so called nice football – tippy tappy nonsense.
Got lucky with our defending which again was farcial at times – Alcaraz & Caldwell – How much evidence does Roberto need were we need to buy in January?
Before anyone calls me an armchair fan – I’m a season ticket holder who for family reasons was frustratedly pinned to the couch tonight.
17 January 2012 at 3:04 am #78384Yeah nice one, another pat on the back and a ‘oh well at least we tried’. Another sickening loss where we had 2 shots all game with any venom. Get rid of the patient shite and we might have a chance. Press up the pitch, work harder, get the full backs higher up the pitch and SHOOT.
17 January 2012 at 3:09 am #78386We lost and I will tell you why
No passion and no desire – its that simple
17 January 2012 at 3:18 am #78388no its simply a bloody frustrating case of not being able to put the ball in the net, & going backwards when there are good opportunities to go forward.

If City had taken there chances second half it could have been 4 or 5 so lets not get to excited.

Yeah I know full well how we played etc etc but if we are just going to be happy to be bottom and throwing the old ‘well we did try this time’ line out we’ll never get anywhere. 15 point in 21 games; we’ve won 1 in 11 at home. I’ll stick to the facts that are presented and we aren’t good enough.

We created next to fook all and have done all season, it would have been robbery if we had got anything tonight.

Robbery is a fine thing when up against the rich and famous dont ya think
17 January 2012 at 4:07 am #78416Robbery is a fine thing when up against the rich and famous dont ya thinkI didn’t say I wouldn’t have taken it but when aceface is bigging up our performance tonight he should take that into consideration.
17 January 2012 at 4:10 am #78417I am truly taken aback at the responses on this thread. It’s as if people were dying for us to lose so they could jump on with their ‘told you so’ posts.
‘They could have scored four or five’ – yes maybe they could. That’s because they have very good players – much better than ours.
To put things into context, the transfer fees of Dzeko and Silva alone would buy the entire Wigan squad and pay their salaries for the season.
No we are not doing well enough this season, and that’s why we are bottom of the league, but the number of negative responses on this board after tonight’s game is disgraceful. Anything we got out of this game would have been a bonus.
Things were turned around at half time, and we looked a lot better in the second half – but get realistic, this was always going to be a game to get out of the way, and then concentrate on the next one.

What exactly is wrong with bigging up our performance against world class players ?
