Their purchase and sales values had been concluded before martinez was in control, any manager can only be judged on net worth, what he’s spent, the return he got for his investment and value of any sale.
From where I see it martinez is being credited with over 31 million pounds (valencia, cattermole, nzogbia) that he is not entitled to although in nzogbia’s case, playing under martinez suited him and added value to his net worth this is something that must also be included in any comparisons.
Yes I have had brain surgery; I had a tolerance chip implanted that allows me to put up with your incessant anti-Martinez gurglings and your throwing of insults when things aren’t going your way.
Read my post again. Or, if you can’t be bothered, I’ll summarise.
Value For Money: a tale of managers and money they spent versus money coming into the club from transfers.
It’s not an analysis who gets credit for the players sold – but it is all about who gets the benefit from the money on those sales.
The reason the players sold bit is included is to show that when £16 million was spent on players, on the face of it, there was £16 million in the pot and that particular manager didn’t have to take the club further into the red to do it.
My post wasn’t even pro-Martinez as such, it was a reaction to someone twisting a money in – money out – per manager thread into an analysis of Martinez’s abilities at developing players.
Now, that does smack of desperation on your part.
