24 September 2009 at 3:19 pm #9588I think he could be worth his weight in gold for us to be honest, I think the defence, especially Bramble are suffering without Bruce and there are no defensive coaches at the club, we should him sign as a player coach, i don’t think he would get many games but his with experiance and knowledge that he could pass down to the defence he could be the difference betwen us staying up and going down. He is also not bad back up is he.
Just my opinion and what do i know.
24 September 2009 at 3:26 pm #9590Only one problem, wages. He was getting 50k per week at County, Whelan wouldn’t give him half that. He has already stated 25k is too much for us to pay, so forget Sol Campbell. Although he could be in to charity work and sees us as in need, never know.
24 September 2009 at 4:11 pm #9595Can’t sign him till Jan anyway
24 September 2009 at 4:19 pm #9596He wouldn’t get a game in front of Boycy, Titus and Scharner
24 September 2009 at 4:26 pm #9597I’d get a game infront of scharner

What, when King is on 40 grand a week, and I believe Koumas is on similar.

Howd on a minute Vat ,can’t you see Bobbys talking sense .he thinks we’ve geet 100 million from tv even though we are 66 million in debt
24 September 2009 at 5:40 pm #9607Only one problem, wages. He was getting 50k per week at CountyActually it was only £40K per week (but let’s not let a good made up statisic get in the way of a reported fact eh?
What can happen though is the need for a bit of ‘creative accounting’ along the lines of:
“Look Sol we can only pay you twenty grand a week, however, as we are not shelling out to buy you we can give you a nice signing on fee. Bad news is we need to spread the payments….how does twenty grand a week for 2 years sound?”
That is, of course, if we were serious about adding him to the squad.
