Agree about Kone, but Di Santo was great. Had the crowd chanting his name etc, showed a superb work rate.
8 December 2012 at 11:57 pm #97823Not going to knock individuals the shock for me was the result,we created so much and only scored twice. We all know that if we had our defence back in situe that would have been three points all day long.
9 December 2012 at 12:13 am #97824Kone is the new heskey, loads of work but no real end product,Now for Di santo this mon is absoult garbage, babis i have got to disagree, he runs round like an headless chicken for 10mins then goes missing then appers again, sometimes all you want is the simple ball but he makes this look hard.Bobby talks of the passing game and work ethic,Di santo stood out like a sore thumb against the toon when fig was sent off,and again today he will not track players and close down and when he does if the player with the ball changes direction he gives up
9 December 2012 at 12:16 am #97825Di Santo was great? He looks ok until he’s near the box. Afraid we can’t carry a forward who shows such little attacking intent and has one of the worst goalscoring records in the premier league for a striker who has played over a hundred games. Kone was bad today but still looked more dangerous. Gomez was yet again our best player. All our penetrative attacking play came through him and he looks as dangerous as any midfielder in the country. Get the defence settled and we will be alreet.
9 December 2012 at 12:18 am #97826My humble opinion is that Kone has a poor first touch, can look clumsy on the ball and wastes too many chances at this level.
Di Santo shouldnt even be classed as a striker, his goalscoring record is woeful, him and gomez have played a similar amount of games for us, and jordi has more goals, not bad for a slow, lazy midfielder eh?
And before some Bobby loving eternal optimist reminds us all that di santo is an argentina international, lets have it right, he wouldnt get anywhere near that team in a tournament, with a fit aguero, messi, tevez, higuain to select.
just my opinion, and i know its probably all we can do to try and find a hidden gem, but they are rare, swansea have hit gold with Michu, but for every one like him, theres twenty that are shite.
We’ll play some good football all season, we’ll lose more than we win, we’ll be in the relegation fight, we’ll win games we ought to lose and we’ll lose games we ought to win, this season, next season, repeat to fade……..
9 December 2012 at 12:23 am #97827Thought McCarthy made most of what we did tick today and Gomez constantly gave the ball away. And wasn’t going to talk about individuals shit.Five spot on James for first goal happy vino nite for me.
9 December 2012 at 12:35 am #97828thought stam did well again today with some superb balls into the box,
9 December 2012 at 12:42 am #97829Yip…he took the piss out of wright-phillips….like I said we created loads ..
9 December 2012 at 12:49 am #97830i also thought phil dowd had a good game today too, :woohoo:

The chanting and support for Di Santo shows what most thought of him.
As for Kone looking more dangerous, did he come closest to the winner or someone else hit the bar? His touch is woeful, his passing is woeful and he doesn’t close players down on the ball. On top of that, he can’t hold the ball up and in recent weeks has missed some shocking chances.
Some people are quick to forget his goals helped keep us up, just like Hugos did the season before.
If Kone was that good, he’d have the fans chanting his name, but he doesn’t.9 December 2012 at 3:01 am #97832These are the facts. Di Santo has averaged around a goal every 8-9 games in the English premier league. Kone a goal every 3-4 up to now. This follows on from a season where he scored around a goal every 2 games in La Liga. Passing woeful? Can’t hold ball up? Today I agree he was poor but most games he has been excellent. Even the usually negative pundits on MOTD singled him out. Which goals of Francos kept us up? He scored 3 goals from Christmas as I recall and one was against Wolves in last match.
9 December 2012 at 4:00 am #97833When did we last have a prolific striker. None under Bobs tactics. Is that the problem?
With a few long balls cutting out the tippy tappy maybe the strikers may start scoring goals.
In reality we have to live with what we have whatever that is.
Premier League after all is nothing to do with fans and supporters at all and our opinions mean
SFA on here and anywhere else. We just have to put up with the overated dross like we have done now going on in to 4 seasons.
Hugo Franco Moses Scotland Sammon Kone Boseli and others It isnt a coincidence that they dont score goals at Latics. Face it if they did they would be sold off cheaply anyway to keep subsidising the fortune that all the players take out of our game.9 December 2012 at 12:15 pm #97834Agree about Kone, but Di Santo was great. Had the crowd chanting his name etc, showed a superb work rate.Di Santo? Great? Work rate? Stick to cheer leading, fella!!
