When did we last have a prolific striker. None under Bobs tactics. Is that the problem?
With a few long balls cutting out the tippy tappy maybe the strikers may start scoring goals.
In reality we have to live with what we have whatever that is.
Premier League after all is nothing to do with fans and supporters at all and our opinions mean
SFA on here and anywhere else. We just have to put up with the overated dross like we have done now going on in to 4 seasons.
Hugo Franco Moses Scotland Sammon Kone Boseli and others It isnt a coincidence that they dont score goals at Latics. Face it if they did they would be sold off cheaply anyway to keep subsidising the fortune that all the players take out of our game.

How many goals did Di Santo score for chelski, blackburn when on loan…………. nothing to do with bobbys tactics and your watching the wrong team if you want the long ball route. Has for Moses at 1 point last season he was at the top of the list in the premier league for most attempts on goal
Unfortunately, at the time he scored away at WBA (last season) he also probably had the worst goals /attempts ratio since God invented Man !(commented on by MOTD pundits at the time)

Thankfully, he picked up at the end …

On the subject of taking taking chances, as Booby said only yesterday (Sunday Mail), we need too many chances to score a goal.
I think you”ve missed my point jpc,we signed Di Santo who didnt have a goal scoring record, moses was getting the chances and still wasnt scoring so donnys statement about bobbys tactics isnt correct
Aye, apologies.

Mind you, maybe the Moses example wasn’t the best (gets us on to a different theme).

Hopefully, our strikers, backed up by others chipping in, can start hitting the net with a little more regularity (goals /attempts), our defence ‘tight as a …..’)

Kone has showed a real lack of effort forme in the last 3 or 4 games,

maybe they’ve found him out,
maybe he goes the same way every time,
maybe his confidence has gone,
maybe he doesn’t want to get injured before the African cup of nations?

Here’s a simple stat, rather than clever maths or equations……

NEITHER Kone or Di Santo have scored in the past SIX games.

That’s shocking, and clearly not good enough.

Di Santo? Useless. Been here what? 3 seasons has he? How many goals has he scored? How many goals did he score previously during his spell at Blackburn? I rest my case, your honour. Spends too much time out on the wing when he should be in the box. Not good enough, in my opinion.

Kone? Like him. Like the way he spins off players and holds them off. Like to see him run at the opposition….scares them to death. For whatever reason, it’s not happening. IS he thinking of warmer climes…..African Nations? Maybe.

Kone is definitely the better out of the two but will be departing soonfor Africa.

POINTS TOTAL SO FAR- 16 games played, 15 points. Going off our average so far, we will have 30 points around April 6th. I think we’ve a tough-ish looking run in too, though I don’t think we’ll need 40 points to stay up this season. We need to ensure we take some points off our relegation rivals as the season goes on.
