Sorry this is two day old thread, and I’ve only just come round to reading it, but I had to pass comment.
In natdan’s initial post there’s a line that perfectly sums up the expectations of a lot of the more negative posters on here:
‘I understand that everyone will say give him time etc but time will not sort out his lack of knowledge on tactics.’
So, presumably, football managers are born with tactical expertise?
When Bruce left, people expected a quick fix, with quick results. Forget the fact that he’s never managed at this level before, and that’s he’s relatively inexperienced as a manager at any level, he’s obviously clueless and to quote natdan again, ‘time will not sort out his lack of knowledge’.
The longer you study, the more knowledge you acquire. So natdan etc, maybe if Martinez is given ample time, he may ‘sort out his lack of knowledge’.
