They need to interview applicants and then there’ll be a process of negotiation when the manager says he wants X, Y and Z, and we can only offer X, and a bit of Y.
It all takes time – which to me confirms a replacement was not already in the pipeline, and also confirms the sacking of Caldwell has Whelan written all over it.

And even if they had a replacement in the pipeline then he has obviously either refused it or is asking for too many add on,s. But it just wouldn’t be Latics if we got it done quickly.
Takes much longer to get good staff to fill vacancies in the real work place.
Let’s think the first one readily available and within our reach would be Robinson realistically with the many factors Latics have to consider.

To be fair, we sacked our manager within a day of Wolves and they haven’t announced anyone yet. So are we being slow?
