Gomez, Boselli, Cadwell, Alcaraz, Watson….there’s always room for another scapegoat!
Now when you see those names together you do have to question RM’s integrity !! B)

Do you actually know what integrity means, becasue what you have written doesn’t make much sense?

To the essence of the issue (about time you did # … ) – sub-standard defender/form – practically week in /out.

Metaphor was taken to support my initial personal opinion view after the Chelsea game. I didn’t pass it off as my own (source was quoted). It has however remained most apt (why re-invent the wheel ?)

Concept of free speech ???

No, the essence of this issue is that you quoted a metaphor from a daily tabloid and yes, named the source on that occasion. You then used the same metaphor twice more over subsequent weeks without mentioning that it had been taken from a newspaper.

It wasn’t a particularly funny metaphor in the first instance, which is why I noticed when you’d used it a second, then a third time.

The wheel doesn’t need reinventing because it can’t be improved upon – so if you think using the ‘Ramis is slower than an out of season holiday in Majorca’ is a flawless metaphor, then fair enough, you wear it out and I won’t mention it again.

Free speech? Absolutely, but not recyling.

Ps. (about time you did … ) No idea what this means.
your thoughts on (1) Ramis (2) defence (3) Latics, in general to date ??

I take it this is your choppy report format way of requesting my opinion in a similar choppy format?

Okay, I’ll play.

Ramis
For: strong, good on the ball
Against: beaten by pace, some rash decisions

Note: La Liga is slower than The Premier League, but La Liga players are not slower than EPL. Ramis needs to adjust to pace of game, not to the pace of players.
He will get stick (Caldwell and Alcaraz two seasons ago?) He will come good (IMO)

The Defence
Alcaraz will strengthen. Ramis or Figueroa to give way
Note:. Martinez has faith in him (game time needed). Figueroa to give way?

Latics in General To Date
For: better than the start of last season
Against: not as good as the end of last season

Conclusion: I am not a qualified Premier League football coach so my tactical suggestions are both worthless and irrelevant anyway.

There, will that do you?

Ps. this is a forum that encourages literary contribution.

The state of being unimpaired, soundness, Perfect condition or even trustworthiness come to think of it ! ! ( Of mind is what I intended when I wrote it )

The brackets bit is a joke by the way !! I of course meant that he is not the perfect whole deal that many think he is with some of the signings he has made ! The word integrity can be used in that context ! ;)

I’m just a glory-hunter who is saving my money for when we get in Europe and draw Ajax Amsterdam away. I will be first in the queue for tickets at 4am on the day they go on sale.

Waste my money on mere Premiershit away days? Pfff! Not likely!.

Thty, Stop trying to create the divide between the board again. I have spotted you trying to do it a few times now.

You are going to have to elaborate on scapegoat because that is not the case and you are wrong. So far Ramis has been poor and a good few goals that could have been prevented by us have gone through him. That isn’t making a scapegoat, That is saying how it is. Why tred on egg shells saying he is doing well if he just isn’t. He might do in time but i very much doubt it. That is where i disagree with Standish. I think his lack of pace in a league where it is bombed from end to end will be the undoing of him here. He would have been well suited at West Ham though if he had gone there because as you say, He is strong in the air and his vision from the back going forward seems very good.

If our system and the way we play cant get maximum points out of West Ham it really will be panic time. And the rumblings start again. Fans (in general) will not pay if there is no value for money and/or no attempt to amend results or the squad.

Fair points. As I read it, Paul Scharner came to mind. Ok in the air and doing the ‘nitty gritty’, but pace wise he was shot, and I think he himself realised that he did not have the footwork ability to play in Roberto’s system. Titus Bramble is probably another.

Divide the board/forum no way ,I was merely pointing out that the fans have to have a scapegoat last year Jordi got the rough end of it when results were going tits up this season it’s Ramis who is getting the crap thrown at him . As for panic stations if we dont pick up three points against the hammers dear god man grow some balls will you I’m sure the alarm bells at other clubs who have spent a lot more than we have will be in panic mode

Do you think that he has told Roberto or is Roberto oblivious to all that is happening on the field and has to find out in a newspaper article ?

From some of his post match interviews I would say that he is oblivious ! Either that or in complete denial !

A constructive post for once, unlike some more recent. goodpost

Concur with much of what you say re. Ramis. The intention is not to make him a scapegoat, merely to express an opinion of feeling underwhelmed and disappointed to date (particularly having regard to financial outlay).

Expressing a negative opinion here does not necessarily imply giving the same player a berating on a Saturday afternoon pitch side either (for those who assume unfortunately that the two always go hand in hand).

Latics in general :

– same points tally as same stage last year / inferior goal difference
– 7 points worse off for teams played

All things considered; i.e. stellar finish to 2011/12, close season investments, more experienced squad etc., I’d say more disappointing start this year than last, personally.
