Indeed a similar start to last season but the team in general are playing a lot better than you are giving them credit for imo plus in your analysis you failed to mention the cup run we are currently on ,maybe that is the good news from this season that you faik to allude to ,so technicly we are marginally better off than last season
Latics in general :– same points tally as same stage last year / inferior goal difference
– 7 points worse off for teams playedAll things considered; i.e. stellar finish to 2011/12, close season investments, more experienced squad etc., I’d say more disappointing start this year than last, personally.
My personal opinion is we’ve played much better football at the start of this season than we did at the start of last season and we’ve been rarely outclassed like we were last season.
By this stage last season we’d won one, drawn two, and lost five – including a 3-1 against Everton and a 3-1 at home to Bolton.
Edit: sorry thty5yearswafc, didn’t see your post. If looked as purely as figures (maybe as an accountant would) it’s very similar. If looked at on their performances, in my opinion, it’s much better.

In Canada these days. And maybe you are right, Dave was more entertaining, and had more relevant things to say (an ironic state of affairs really as Dave was totally irrelevant). Still, i sit here most days just waiting for the next instalment from sudders and his whimsical fantasy life.

Doesn’t that reinforce my argument: this season’s start is better than last season’s start?Also, as thty5yearswafc said, chuck in a couple of 4-1 wins in the cup and I’d say it was considerably better this time round.
