I don’t agree with any racist language but i’m glad he’s slipped up here because it could be the final nail in his £40k a week coffin (est wage). it shows how old fashioned they really are.

Lostock,i worked with a West Indian guy and if you called him coloured he went garrity. He always said “im a black man and i want to be called a black man to call me coloured puts me in a large group of different ethnics,im proud to be black and want to be acknowledged as a black man” I thought that was a profound statement from a real genuine guy.

FFS…racism is one thing but taking things to the ‘nth’ degree in the name of (insert political/social/flavour of the day) correctness destroys our very well being. The only people offended by these ‘contretemps’ are those self righteous, banner waving, self flagellating hypocrites that (over) populate our media.
What the heck’s going on with all this racism being booted about these days. The easiest way to describe people is by their appearance. Firstly, Black or White, easy. If this is wrong then somebody should produce a guide as to how you describe someone without bringing in colours. Surely Suarez has committed no other sin than playground name-calling. If Evra doesn’t like this he should have gone home crying to his mummy, not kicking off an 8 game ban, pathetic. I’d have thought racism meant prejudice as in not considering for a job, not allowing entrance etc…If name-calling is a crime then Jock, Taffy and Paddy should also be banned from the ENGLISH language..and fatty, spotty and 4-eyes. :angry:

what he was saying Mickey is that he wants to be known by exactly what he is. White is a colour so would you want to be called coloured?.P C is the bain of society imho and causes more trouble than its worth.We should all be proud of our own race no matter what tone our skins are.If some half-headed bigot wants to spout racist comments i dont see what we can do to stop it but hand out the punishments it deserves.
If somebody is offended by language used by somebody then it isn’t really down to anybody else to tell them that it isn’t offensive
In this instance Alan Hansen has used a term which some people find offensive when used to describe them. I don’t think anyone has claimed Hansen meant to offend but he has apologised if his use of that term offended anyone as it wasn’t his intent & that apology seems to have been accepted
The only people continuing to make a fuss about it are the “anti-PC” brigade who seem to see offending people (deliberately or not) as some form of basic human right. What is wrong of you offend somebody in apologising for that?
To take it out of its racial context if you’re at the match & launch into a tirade of abuse Jordi Gomez coz he’s misplaced a pass, some of that tirade includes foul & abusive language and the woman in front asks if you’ll mind your language as she doesn’t want her 2 young children to have to hear that, I imagine the vast majority of people would apologise.

I think the phrase is either Black or Mixed Race, but check with your local police as to what is a racist phrase, and what you could be arrasted for.
It doesnt surprise me that people are ignorant of the law in Wigan
The administrators need to take a long hard look at the comments on here.
Hansen has been obviously been told to apologise. What he said was innocent and (largely) inoffensive. The Mirror is hamming it up big time this morning saying Lee Dixon was squirming in his chair at the ‘gaffe’. Gaffe my arse. As a professional broadcaster, maybe he should subscribe to Political Correctness Monthly to update himself on what can and can’t be said in this particular ever changing realm.
