It’s a strange place to have a dump. :woohoo:

Synchronised dumping could be the next big sport to be introduced at the next Olympics. :cheer:

    From Matlock to ManU
    What a journey!

They both play for the only 2 teams to have beaten City at the Etihad so far this season.

They both scored the first goal,a penalty conceded by the same player Demichelis which I’m led to believe is Spanish for donkey !!!! ;)

I thought that Chelsea & Bayern Munich had beaten them at the Etihad this season too??
    We’re in good company regardless!!

Just to reignite this debate, I was talking to a contractor at work (a Liverpool fan) yesterday about the game & he made the comment that “it was all the more amazing that you won with 10 men coz that Gomez was $h!te”

I’ll let everybody argue over that one

More importantly, do you think Gomez ‘was sh!te’?

I hope there won’t be any argument today.

I didn’t see enough of Sunday’s game to comment (only got to see ITV’s highlights).
What I did say to this Scouser was that he was our marmite player & Latics fans either loved him or hated him.
I said that personally I could see the stuff he is capable of that no other player in our squad can do but that I can also see the bad stuff he does. Also that whilst I don’t think he warrants the lofty regard some hold him in, nor do i think that he warrants the stick he gets from sections of the crowd who will give his mistakes more grief than the mistakes of other players.
So basically I sat on the fence & disproved my claim that everyone either loves him or hates him!! ;)

One thing this fella said was that when he was watching it & Gomez stepped up to take the penalty was that he hadn’t even realised he was playing coz he’d not seen him do anything or even heard him mentioned up to that point

He can’t have watched the game then, gomez was involved enough, and did have a decent game.

City had 69% of the possession, so we clearly didn’t dominate midfield. But when he got the ball, Gomez was thoughtful and looked for chances to go forward.

Rosler had done his homework before the game. His plan relied on everybody challenging when we didn’t have possession, and Gomez played his part.

Wigan restricted City to just three shots on target, and managed three themselves. So the result was hardly a fluke.

Rosler has found a role for Gomez which he obviously enjoys. I’m sure Rosler will continue his rotation, but I expect Gomez to contribute as much as anyone.
