    Wigan v Barnsley preview;

36% of the Latics’ goals this campaign have been scored in the final 15 minutes, a league-high share.

The Tykes have scored just twice in the final 15 minutes this season, a joint-league low with Charlton.

This suggests that Wigan are fit enough to last 90 minutes. You might have expected Wigan to dominate the end of the game. It didn’t turn out like that.

Rosler wants to play at high intensity, but you can’t do that for 90 minutes. So the game goes in fits and starts. You have to have a style for the rest of the game.

The game was won by half time. Therefore considering the situation we are currently in , playing catch up in the league and still in the cup , it was obvious we would coast through the second half. The high intensity game that Uwe wants us to play means if we do get a chance to coast for 45 minutes then coast we must.

Highlight of the game by a country mile was the threaded pass by McEachran that played Jean in. Absolute joy to watch.

Job was done. Switch off and look ahead to the two big aways we have coming up (3 if you count City)

The guy next to me said he heard a crack which we laughed off at first but he was probably spot on.

Indeed. If only Jean had had the conviction to just put his foot through the ball and go for goal.

McClean and Beausejour were sensational in the first half. Beausejour had a real understanding with Maloney, and has found another with McClean.

Rosler seems to like Beausejour and is very patient with McClean. Unlike some of our fans.

I hope we see more of McEachran, but does anybody know why he went off? Perhaps he wasn’t making enough forward passes.

I think that the news filtering through about Watson may have forced Rosler to take the lad off and put him in cotton wool till Saturday. :woohoo:

I’m not surprised. He’s a class act at this level and the good things he does far outweigh the bad.

On that subject, I’m not getting how Jordi isn’t in the frame at the moment for a regular start. Hard to say who’d have to make way because even though Ben Watson is out for the season they’re totally different types of player. Strange to see such a classy player (especially at this level) warming the bench but in Uwe we trust.

He may well be saving McEachran. And Powell should be ready to play again soon.

We have a big squad and a heavy fixture list. So Rosler is only too willing to rotate the team.

I have been a big critic of McClean because I expected more from him. He certainly seems to be improving by the game, for sure.

I think Rosler should stick with the threesome Beau, Roger and McClean down the left hand side, at times they look unplayable.

Speaking about McClean, I’m selling my house and the skirting board and door frames are a bit scuffed and chipped. My mate said put a bit of toothpaste on them and they will look like new.

Thanks a lot pal, the red and blue stripes make the scuffs and chips look twice as fekin bad as they did.
