Cant keep hold of any players, being made an embarresment of (the Martinez unveiling was a cracker) signing players nobody else wants, losing 4-1 to Blackpools reserves and attendances dropping like a stone.
Whelan has brought back some wonderful memories, the newest the memory of when we were relegated getting 1200 fans and selling every decent player we had. The tight fisted excuse will have us rattling bookets outside the ground next to pay for the clubs travel expenses. :x

Give the Samaritans a ring, they may be able to help you. Or even try downing some Prozac.

Memory of us getting relegated with 1200 fans, when was that then? I seem to have lost that one.

As for keeping hold of players, have you ever heard of such a thing as player power? When a player wants to move then it inevitably happens, there is not much a club can do apart from get the best price. Everton with Lescott being the latest example. Whelan does that very well in my opinion. Also there is the fact that an offer comes in that is too good to turn down, such as Valencia..Palacios..Heskey etc.. Even Utd couldn’t hold onto players this summer.

And i dont know where you get the embarrassment thing from.. we are in the 5th season of the Prem, even though we are tipped for the drop every year. We are run within our means. Mongs like you may call Whelan every name under the sun for no reason, but i am happy with the way the club is run. Ask the people of Luton or Bournemouth if they would like a chairman like ours.

Why don’t you buy the club and put millions into it if you are so clever.

Bit of a difference to Lescott, how much did we get for the lad Dave Whelan valued at £12m and who wasnt for sale anyway again?

It wasnt 1200 fans is what im getting at, smartarse. Without checking the stats i seem to remember it being more in 93.

The average attendance in the season we were relegated (1992-93) was 2,593.

The lowest ever average since joining the football league was during the 1994-95 season when the average was 1,748.

So the facts show that we have never had an average of 1,200 over a full season.

Hope this stops just a little bit of the bickering on here. Every little helps!!!!

Who mentioned averages? We have been on Springfield with less than 1200 fans on, or do you not agree?

True but I think you’ll find there were a few more than 1200 on when we played Plymouth.

I don’t recall us having a League attendance below 1200 since we got in the FL.
I do however recollect Cup game against Bury that attracted a gate of around 890

I remember going away to West Brom that season. We got battered 5-1, and we took about 80 fans, lol! The old Smethwick end terrace was very sparse. Darren Bradley, Bob Taylor, Kevin Donovan, and Kwame Ampadu took the p*ss that day.

I think that when Whelan paid the wages, he came to watch the team V Hartlepool and there were something like 1,400.

Of course, all those off here who’ve been “going ages” were hidden, and we really had 12,000 on.

                          Course we did.

I doubt there was more than a thousand on that day. I think we inflated the crowd as there couldn’t have been more than 800 on. The rugby were at Wembley if I remember rightly and they had Shilton in nets
