Attendances don’t concern me, I’m on about actual support from the fans at the stadium. Wimbledon fans made some noise and I remember playing Tranmere, Crewe, Nob End, Blackpool etc, we made a racket. But recently, the excitment, atmosphere, expectation etc has gone and we are quite frankly sad as muck. I’ve never been to a Premiership ground where the fans are as bad as us, just one question and this will answer wether we are indeed the worst set of fans to grace Englands top flight:
When was the last time you heard chanting of ‘Wigan, Wigan…’ or the chanting of ‘We Love You Wigan?’ If it was in the last 12 months, were not the worst. Awaiting responses.10 September 2009 at 3:57 pm #8435I’d rather go to tesco shoppin with the wife than go to a home game.

Everything is s*it, including this post.
It’s all so s*it, it’s unbelievable how s*it it is.
The last 10-15 years has been, and still is so f**king s*it.
It’s so s*it I can’t s*it.
S*it, that feels better.
Do us a favour wafc1932 and f*ck off.10 September 2009 at 4:28 pm #8438waht a rant sound’s something that Bobbyswigan would come out with
10 September 2009 at 5:10 pm #8441In fairness, I can kind of see where he’s coming from.
What I mean is, I am sure that we, as a collective of fans, used to get behind the team more vocally. I can recall some great atmospheres of recent seasons, like when everybody did a big ‘Mexican Wave’ at that game (was it Villa?) a couple of seasons ago.
But having said that, other grounds are as bad, if not worse. I mean, Liverpool can have 44,000 on and apart from the odd chant or song, it can be very quiet. Everton was like a morgue, 2 weeks ago.
I think the Premiership in general, has lost a lot of atmosphere. Why? I don’t know. People miserable from the recession? lack of actual ‘exciting’ football? I don’t know.
Regarding Latics fans, I really don’t think we are any worse or any better than any other fans, for either getting behind their team, or moaning.
10 September 2009 at 5:19 pm #8442Premiership atmospheres are crap! The fans are fickle and most of them are either new/foriegn/prawn sandwich brigade or kids.
European nights are different because people who cant afford to go anymore buy tickets and go!
As for being the worst id rather be like us than some of the fans out there!
10 September 2009 at 5:42 pm #8449Aye but at Springy Park there was 7,000+ cheering and chanting in a small area that crated a lot of noise, It’s different now of course with the big stadium and open sides with fans sitting all over the place, The odd pocket of chanting appearing in each stand. As for being the worst fans in the Prem, Speak for yourself, I love my club and have done ever since i was a nipper and i am wed to them, So speak for yourself because i aint in your league pal.
10 September 2009 at 6:10 pm #8456Ain’t in my league? Willing to test it out mucker? How old are you, how long have you followed Latics, you got a season ticket, you go away, you got the latest strips etc. Willing to go head to head and we can meet and prove it. As for 7000 fans at Springfield, didn’t you go pre Dave Whelan? 2000 fans and still a better set of fans than now.
Over to you!10 September 2009 at 6:46 pm #8457Ooh the hold how long have you supported Latic’s reply
10 September 2009 at 6:47 pm #8458Oh heck! I haven’t got the latest strips.
I suppose I’d better just go and support someone else as I’m obviously not a real fan.
10 September 2009 at 7:01 pm #8459Ooh the hold how long have you supported Latic’s reply   :roll:He’ll be gone soon – I think the 1932 is his bed time. :D
10 September 2009 at 7:18 pm #8461Bobbyswigan will be gutted when he returns, he has a serious challenger for the prize idiot title.

Over to you!Im 24 and been going since 93, I should crack my dad for not impregnating my mother earlier, i buy a home kit every year, (i love taking them abroad), i have a season ticket and have had ever since i was unable to sneak into Springy Park in my youth, I did go pre-whelan but only by a couple of years, i remember the attendances and as for going head to head, i must warn you i have a very extensive knowledge of global football and as far as head to head on intellect goes you have already been beaten.
