pay the money, boo when there bad, cheer when they good.
why should the fans have to perform when the palyers dont.
boooooooooooooooooooooo
You pay your money because you want to see your team play well.
OK?
So why would you want to dent their confidence even more by booing them, when all it will do is affect their performance in a negative way and make a good result less likely??
I cheered when he went off!
Dent his confidence?? GOOD! Hopefully thats the last game he plays for us, the man is absolute disgrace! Its not his lack of ability its his effort – zero!

How do you know he doesn’t try? Please answer ashonestly as you can?

Because I’ve watched him week and after week, backs out of every tackle. never seen him run with the ball. always backwards passes even when there’s a better option forward.
The man has no heart and desire to play for us, and yes that could be said for the likes of N’zogbia and Hugo but at least they have some quality in themselves to produce decent performances.
Listen if the manager choses to pick a player who in the opinion of practically all on here is quite simply not up to it then surely the blame lies with the manager !
Whether the blame lies with the manager or not do you think it was right to boo or, as has been suggested, “ironically clap” him being subbed?
He was not the worst player on the field yesterday, in terms of either effort or skill. Do you think booing a player off helps the players still on the pitch and since the entire squad think Gomez is cr@p anyway, booing him off made them raise their game?
Or maybe it just made you feel better?

I didnt do either as I dont condone that sort of behaviour ! Not sure about your squad comment ?
Ashamed of our fans…..well, unfortunately I think a few of us are frequently, after all, we have a large percentage of a fanbase that seems to turn up with the sole intention of slating slates the team and manager at every opportunity and is disppointed if we win and play well, as they can’t moan and shout about Whelan, the grass, the pies etc. However, the treatment of Gomez has been nothing short of disgraceful, he hasn’t done a Chimbonda or gone on strike…no, his “crime” is like a few others, he’s simply not good enough…..but the morons boo him before he gets on, while he’s on and when he’s going off and still expect him to perform…idiots.
Added to all this, we have the stayways who are an even bigger disgrace and find any excuse not to get behind the teams…oh yes, wonderful fans we have in Wigan.
Of course there’s a huge number of magnificent fans, just a shame they’re let down by others

I think the cheering/jeering were probably aimed at the manager as much as the player. The problem is that shouting, cheering, booing, clapping or whatever is the only way supporters get to put there feeling across. It happens at every club not just ours.
There’s nothing more certain that if Gomez isn’t in the team and things aren’t going well then the morons amongst our support ( and that is a large percentage ) will target somebody else.
It was somewhat ironic that the shameful abuse of Gomez happened against Newcastle. In the past we’ve called the Toon army for destroying players such as Bramble etc.

I wasn’t suggesting you did although I accept my post reads that way. It was a general comment aimed at those who were.
The squad comment was a bit of sarcasm.
Im always ashamed and embarassed everytime i go 2 a game.. Theres always some idiot behind spouting crap about the club tryna crack an unrelevent joke etc. I dont see why people like that go to the games..
