That’s not what he is saying. He is proving it’s a football town. Unfortunately too many support clubs that don’t represent their own town. Just like almost half of rugby season ticket holders are not from Wigan. The attendances of the two clubs don’t reflect the sporting preferences of the population.

Nothing to do with it being a night match and our ‘very high’ percentage of younger season ticket holders won’t have gone to the game. That South Stand is usually rammed for games like these, but I will put it down to kids being put to bed rather than let them witness history… shame really.

I personally had to take the stick off the missus when I got back with my daughter at 11.00, but I really didn’t mind, pity the others didn’t follow my lead…

FA Cup Winners 2013, sounds good that

Its half-term in Wigan isnt it? My brother is a teacher in Wigan and he’s been off this week.

So you’d keep an U11 awake until 11pm on half term would you? Granted they won’t have to be up for school but I bet they still need to be awake to be taken to babysitters or school holiday clubs etc

So all of the 3000 “missing” fans were U11? Or do they all come from a single-parent household where the parent couldnt go either?

These continual excuses for non-attendance are pretty sad, to be honest. Why not face up to the fact that there are about 12-13,000 core home fans, and any others are only there because they have been given a free ticket?

Lordy remember when the egg chasers dropped down one division average attendance 4000 despite them being the biggest team in RL. You have about 6000 die hards the rest are glory hunters probably explains why half claim to be Utd fans.

Seriously some of your fans get on my tits, sad little insecure wife wears the trousers types who’d sh*t them selves at a football game. Ultras FFS!

I’ve always said that that’s our core support. Why people like you or the media suddenly expect that to reach 18k or more just because we play Man Utd baffles me.

I wouldn’t have give a shite if I was the only Latics fan on the ground. The fact is that we beat Man Utd 1-0 and THAT is all that matters.

I’ll be there tomorrow btw but I doubt the rest of our 10k season ticket holders will be. Will you be back then to explain why that is?

What’s your estimation for the chubbie international against the crusaders eggmon ?

              #85223

Egg – You need to remember what the title of the thread is, who started it and why it was started, then ask your mates why “only” 13,000 home fans showed up for their biggest home game of the season, compared to “only” 13,500 home fans for a minority sport played by drug-fuelled cave dwellers representing a handful of pit villages along a dirt track that straddles two large northern counties.

34yrs a loser – It will be sub-10K, but I am confident more home fans will turn out than they did for the Wigan v Hull City FA Cup clash, or the Wigan v Notts County FA Cup clash. Possibly 6,000 will show up, which dwarfes either of those home crowds.

I think you’ll find that the biggest home game of our season is against Wolves.

On a serious note, can we all please stop this bitter rilvary? I think the Wigan Athletic fans need to grow up and accept Super League as a valid sport. I mean, just because it’s women playing football, it doesn’t make it any less valid.

The point is, there isn’t a report you read about Latics that doesn’t include ‘It’s a rugby town don’t you know’ the point is it isn’t a rugby town no matter how you dress it up. Now suck on that you big nancy.

Latics are a miniscule club, in the face of adversity in the biggest league in the world, we know our place but doesn’t it pee people off?

For the self proclaimed biggest rugby club in the world, they should sell out every game. Fact is they don’t and never had done. In their prime the average was 13k in the 2nd div it was 4k.

Wigan has a successful, proud rugby tradition but it isn’t a rugby town, fact that they get so wound up by Latics uprising proves this.

Sorry to pish on yer chips but your as bad as the United w@nkers, always have been, always will be and I for one feckin hate you both.

Wednesday p1ssed many so called Wiganers off and I love it.

We only got 8000 last year against a better side when it was free. Be lucky if theres 5k on.
