It seems to me that these players that are just”half decent” this season were OK last season.
maybe it’s because Coyle doesnt know how to play them or his style doesn’t suit their paying.
I can believe that Jean , mcmannaman, Espinoza, Holt, fortune,McArthur have all just become bad players?

the only constant is the manager and his style.

I heard that he has said that he wants to leave. Coyle to his credit has apparently stated that if his desire to play for Wigan isn’t there then he won’t play him.
Not sure if this is true, but if it is, we should get shut asap. Well done OC.

What’s OC’s excuse for not playing Espinoza then?

He got 9 mins last night and has to try and make a mark.
He’s another one who isn’t as good as everyone seems to think he is. Like McManaman, it seems that all you have to do to become a Latics Legend is string together three half-decent performances on the bounce.

Decent player Espinoza, that’s all.
Even so a I would settle for a decent player at the moment.
I remember seeing the highlights of the game he played for Honduras against Brazil in the Olympics last year, he was clapped off the field by both sets of players when he was sent off for his second bookable offense. I’ll judge his playing potential by that reaction rather than someone who has seen him start couple of games and several 5-10 minute cameos.

From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!

One of the comments taken from below that link……

“Espinoza is such a beast. He gets a red card and still gets a round of applause from all the Brazil players and the fans in the stadium. Would love to see him in Europe”.

RE would be a better option than our current left sided mish mash of players ! :)

As I’m over in the States, I was able to see Espinoza play several times for both Kansas City and Honduras in CONCACAF before he transferred to Wigan, and I’ve always been a fan. No, he wouldn’t be a savior for Wigan, nor is he the type who’s even going to score much; but, he would definitely help Wigan retain more possession than they have been, & I really thought we’d see more of him. In particular, I think that his style would complement Gomez well & make for a nice midfield pairing (Gomez with the creativity, and Espinoza the industry & ability to win back possession).

I certainly expected to see Beausojeur and Espinoza a lot more than we have this year. And honestly, for me, outside of Maloney, if healthy Gomez would be the first name on the team sheet every week. We’ve seen a lot of Gomez; but even he doesn’t seem to be the automatic that I had expected (given his proven record in the Championship). It’s probably just coincidence (or maybe preferred style); but, I’m almost starting to wonder if Coyle has something against latin american and/or spanish players.

He needs to move on swiftly, for the sake of the the rest of the season.

Like I’ve said before, if we have 2 bad results Sunday and Weds there’s a possibility he could be on his way. I don’t think DW will hang around till after Christmas and a transfer window weeks away now is the time.

At 66/1 to be the next Championship manager to leave his post it’s worthy of a fiver if nout else.
