In trouble again
11 September 2018 at 11:23 am #17167711 September 2018 at 12:03 pm #171680They will find a way out of it I’m sure.
11 September 2018 at 12:52 pm #171681I’m sure they will but how many times can they worm thier way out of it without a high rolling sugar daddy
11 September 2018 at 12:53 pm #171682Course they will but 12 points lighter and a two year embargo.
500 million pounds turned over in 11 premier league season’s. 170 million written off in debts and still can’t pay their way. Promotion won two years ago and safety met last season by still living above their means.
Hope they get the treatment Rotherham got. Newport, Aldershot,Maidstone fans will be watching.11 September 2018 at 1:52 pm #171687Didnt their chairman say a few week ago they had the least amount of debt in the championship?
11 September 2018 at 2:54 pm #171690He did Stu, openly bragging about it.
11 September 2018 at 3:02 pm #171691Could it not finally be game over .3rd time realty unlucky.lol.
11 September 2018 at 3:20 pm #171692Didnt their chairman say a few week ago they had the least amount of debt in the championship? In their eyes Stu they do have the least debt, coz they never pay any of it back
11 September 2018 at 3:29 pm #171693What’s the difference between their situation and those of Darlington and Rangers? Both of those clubs weren’t just docked points; they were relegated right to the bottom of the pile.
11 September 2018 at 3:40 pm #171694Course they will but 12 points lighter and a two year embargo.

They also all folded as they were declared bankrupt and could not continue to operate (I think Maidstone only had 2 registered players at the start of the season they folded & never played a game in). If Bolton are ever declared banrkrupt they will also cease to existNot quite sure why what’s happening to Bolton is of relevance to fans of those 3 clubs

Correct tl but their situation is very similar to what happened to Luton

Not really – at least not at this stage.
Luton were docked 10 points because they broke rules regarding paying agents via a third party
They were then docked a further 20 points because they could not reach a CVA with their creditors in order to exit administration & it was the third time in 10 years that they’d been in administrationAs much of a mess as Bolton seem to be in, they’ve never been in administration (yet at least!!) nor have they broke rules regarding agent paymemnts.
If they get put in administration, then they’ll get docked points as per the league rules
Sorry to be pedantic

I thought that they went into administration twice and that’s why a 20 point deduction was imposed second occasion. Like Bolton they kept finding financial difficulties but I bow to your superior knowledge tilders. Foreign owners must pass fit and proper qualifications yet some British owners especially at Bolton go from one disaster to another. Strange situation.

Foreign owners must pass fit and proper qualifications yet some British owners especially at Bolton go from one disaster to another. Strange situation.I had to google it, but according to the BBC website the 20 point penalty was imposed for failing to agree a CVA and the Football League stressed in passing this judgement that it was their 3rd period of administration in 10 years – they were also unfortunate that their troubles came at the time that everyone was demanding action against clubs that did this as there’d been a furore when the like of Leicester racked up big debts, went into administration & then started again and paying about 10p for every £ owed to creditors so the clubs who were managing objected coz if I remember rightly Leicester then went & had a successful season coz they were no longer laiden with a massive debt.
Bolton were a mess for years & were over reliant on a debt to the Isle of Man fella that Gartside seemed to think didn’t matter coz he thought he’d put safeguards in to the debt which meant that he couldn’t suddenly ask for it back – what a prat
Everything I remember saying to a Bolton mate of mine when the new guys came in a few years ago has unfortunately (for them) also come true -
