What I am getting at is nobody blinked an eyelid when Maidstone etc sank but with Bolton/ Villa etc it’s seen as a travesty.
Simple thing is they are cheats. They stayed up last season by simply cheating. Cheating the other clubs that were relegated
It stinks and there’s no poor Bolton from me.
North West Counties playing at Prestwich Cables would serve them right.11 September 2018 at 8:22 pm #171707What bugs me is that that this problem must have been around close season yet they were allowed to bring in quality players like Wildschut and now a possible embargo afterwards. The FA works in mysterious ways.

I know exactly what you mean though as few cared when the clubs you mentioned went to the wall – although Maidstone especially were horribly mismanaged & spent way above their means, had to sell their ground to survive, ground shared 40+ miles away, saw crowds nose dive & then spent 500k on land & solicitors for a new ground when they didn’t even have planning permission
Bolton haven’t cheated as such – they haven’t broken any restrictions put on them by the EFL. They’ve spent money they didn’t have (most clubs do that) & they don’t seem to have paid other creditors as agreed (a lot of companies renegotiate their payment terms), but again neither are cheating.
They’ve been really badly mismanaged & whilst I’ve no sympathy for the guy who owns them I have for their employees & supporters.
It also highlights yet again that whilst there are some who slated Whelan for not splashing the cash about willy nilly in a bid for success that what has done has (so far) guaranteed the long term survival of the club.
11 September 2018 at 8:54 pm #171709You are a good sport Tilders and youre 10 out of 10 with the Whelan comment.
To think though Anderson and co had millions of pounds worth of debt written off before they started off with Horwich Wanderers then sold millions of pounds worth of assets and now have put the Pigs Feet back in this position.
Their fans must be livid.11 September 2018 at 11:08 pm #171710What I am getting at is nobody blinked an eyelid when Maidstone etc sank but with Bolton/ Villa etc it’s seen as a travesty.

Long live Uncle Dave, spot on tl best owner / chairman ever. Brought true my wildest dreams whilst keeping this brilliant club on firm ground.
12 September 2018 at 1:26 am #171711I’m glad Bolton didn’t go into receivership, just putting my tin hat on as I type. Got friends who are fans, and you can’t have a local rivalry without a local rival! It is better having the game against them to look forward to.
12 September 2018 at 2:17 am #171712Surprise surprise, it didnt happen but it is Bolton, the little darlings of the press and founder members of the league with an history. It never was going to happen really was it?

12 September 2018 at 11:34 am #171715Painting over the cracks comes to mind, and a poorly poorly run club, glad were not like them with their leadership, but if their flaunting the rules they deserve to be punished and this will catch up to them again, as I said painting over the cracks.
12 September 2018 at 3:28 pm #171718I was reading last night that there was a Bolton Wanderers Free School (run by the Eddie Davies Educational Trust so technically not a part of the club) that was operating out of their stadium had to close after 2-3 years because it was losing so much money. I think by the time it closed it had a deficit of almost £600k
During that time, Bolton Wanderers charged them over £500,000 in rent (£174k one year & £330k the year after) & £91,000 in utility bills – figures described by education professionals as “extortionate”. Having worked as a bursar in several schools (without seeing the ins & outs of their books), I’d be inclined to agree with that statement
Free schools are funded by the state (i.e. taxpayers)!!
13 September 2018 at 12:56 pm #171724I’m with grumpy on this one.tick tock surely the clock will stop lol.
15 September 2018 at 1:32 am #171765Hilarious to see them go down the pan but in sport you need your rivalries. I hoped they would stay up last year as I missed playing them and the more games against them the better.
20 September 2018 at 5:55 pm #17190620 September 2018 at 10:44 pm #171908Eddie Davies is one generous owner & if ever there was an example of why not to buy a football club Bolton would be it. Cost him a small fortune.
20 September 2018 at 11:51 pm #171910Surely sooner or later the shit is gona hit the fan for the trotters.lol.
