Didn’t boo, clapped.
17 September 2017 at 2:12 am #161978Didn’t boo or clap but actually thought it was more of a sarcastic comical boo to be honest to make a point and move on!
Don’t think it will be repeated
17 September 2017 at 2:30 am #161982We want to win our games, don’t we? Do you really think booing a player will increase the chances? I don’t. Because of recent history Max’s confidence will have taken a knock. When that happens to me, I like people to support me, and help me along … NOT hinder me. Encourage him, help him get his confidence back. Why not? Then he may be as good as he was last time we were in this division. For me, booing him is NOT on. No help. End of.
Added to that we are told that all ‘issues’ have been resolved with the Club / management, and as Cook says ‘water under the bridge’.
17 September 2017 at 2:49 am #161986Agree Rich so it should have been made clear to all fans that it was water under the bridge.
We have been part of this club much longer than any of the players, the coaches, manager and the Chairman yet we get towd nowt.
He was booed because he was seen as a Judas. I haven’t had an email from the club to tell me anything different.
Simple communication would help. The club put the poor lad through that humiliating experience not the fans. They didn’t know any difference.17 September 2017 at 2:57 am #161991You all keep going on about the club should be saying something. Power was quick enough on twitter about his transfer request. And I think he hasn’t reversed it. So bollocks to him he would be well gone if a club thought he was good enough. Which he isn’t. And I did boo and I ain’t bothered. Why does power not come out and say he wants to stay. And for power scoring a winning goal for promotion not a chance
17 September 2017 at 3:02 am #161992Blood sucking agents are to blame.
They ruined one of our best ever players; The Duke.
Think Nathan would have gone on to higher things if he had stayed at the Tics a bit longer, instead of lining his agents wallet !17 September 2017 at 3:05 am #161995Yep, ok Donny, thanks …. but whilst sometimes the club telling the fans what is going on seems woeful, to be fair Cook did say, as far back as 9 September, that ‘what ever went is truly in the past, water under the bridge, move on’, in the piece in Wigan Today by Paul Kendrick. So this time they may not have got it as wrong as we may like to hope!!
If Cook, Sharpe, ‘The Club’, Power have moved on, maybe the fans should.

17 September 2017 at 3:13 am #162001If you work in McDonald’s and Burger King offered you twice as much money to go and flip burgers for them instead, you would go.The difference to this analogy being that Burger King didn’t offer twice as much – in fact even the Motorway Service Station branches weren’t interested. Max took a note in from his mum to the manager of McDonalds saying “Dear McDonalds, Max is too good to flip burgers for you lot and wants to go to BK if they ask him”
As JR said, the difference with Huws is he got crocked and then watched helplessly as the side fell through the trap door. He had a right to feel slightly hard-done too, whereas Power was an integral part of the failures of 16/17.
17 September 2017 at 3:23 am #162006I don’t think it was just Power who was an integral part of the 16/17 failures and fiascos. Several players as well as some Board / Management who hired RUBBISH coaches / managers. Joycee wasn’t the best appointment was he?

Don’t you mean since 1932, not 1967?
17 September 2017 at 4:17 am #162010Yes i do know you and you are ready for yet another melt down. You often forget what you’ve said on here, not sure if you are a thick as you make out, but I’ve not attacked you at all. I’ve simply said what you have done in the past. Read my post especially the bit at the begining where I say I’m not one for booing. Did you or did you not say that you was thinking of throwing your season ticket on the pitch and not watching um again? You need to grow up lad and please don’t go on melt down. Max Power wanted to turn his back on our club just like you did. End of!
From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!17 September 2017 at 11:47 am #162012I don’t think it was just Power who was an integral part of the 16/17 failures and fiascos. Several players as well as some Board / Management who hired RUBBISH coaches / managers. Joycee wasn’t the best appointment was he?The management and coaching staff from last season have pretty much been moved on, be it of their own desire or the clubs wish to get shut of them. But I’m struggling to think of anyone other than Power on the playing front from last season who openly implied they were too good to play 3rd division football this season.
The Huws incident has left a sour taste in some supporters’ mouths, and to then have an average player who was plucked from non-league football tell you that he’s too good to play 3rd tier (when he’s only had one 2nd tier season, and a poor one at that) is at best confusing, and at worst downright disrespectful.
I didn’t boo or clap. I’m apathetic to Power.
17 September 2017 at 1:50 pm #162018In referring to management / Board I was really referring to Sharpe and Jackson who seemed to be making decisions on a whim.
But any way, he ho, ….. I was actually quite pleased to see him come on and I wanted him to do really well. But then I’m an oddity!!!
