What a journey!2 June 2010 at 6:46 pm #35406He’s scored 32 goals in 57 games so I think we should definitely give him a go.
2 June 2010 at 7:28 pm #35414The only problem is him playing up-front on his own and getting used to how we play.

3 June 2010 at 5:00 pm #35566Can’t express how much I value your support for the lads, magnificent effort that sitting in a pub……if you do that when we’re at home, then you’re a disgrace to proper Wigan Athletic supporters.

Then, we can all slag you off when you refuse to throw all your hard-earned cash away for the sake of 13,000 ungrateful moaning tw@ts.
3 June 2010 at 5:58 pm #35575Spot on Griff, bet he wasn’t calling Whelan Old Bastido when he took us through the divisions and took us to a Carling Cup final…..Dave Whelan has taken our little club to heights we could only dream of, now we’ve got there the town has turned its back on the club, and he wonders why we don’t spend money.
If I wasn’t a Latics fan but owned the club, I’d sell it tomorrow and give a verbal 2 fingered salute to the so-called *”supporters” we have in this town.
*Everyone who turns up and pays their money, naturally not included

3 June 2010 at 7:08 pm #35597whelan is a born and bred salesman and he long ago identified as in all his other business’s, profit to fund other activities is a fundemental need , it is a major part of our income and one of the main factors of our continued survival, buying and developing sows ears and turning them into silk purses is core to that philosophy
7 million is alot to gamble and to increase the value on him the player has to be exceptional, i dont doubt that whelan would take the gamble if he felt the returns were there, but why take that chance when there are cheaper options,i seem to remember paying 3 mill or so for rodelegga after being asked to pay much more for someone else but refusing to do so, now that seems to have proved a good deal.
this is the way we have to run wigan athletic,my only problem is,whelan should have made a statement to the public from day one confirming this and not chest beating and promising war chests and everybody could accept this.3 June 2010 at 7:12 pm #35598whelan is a born and bred salesman and he long ago identified as in all his other business’s, profit to fund other activities is a fundemental need , it is a major part of our income and one of the main factors of our continued survival, buying and developing sows ears and turning them into silk purses is core to that philosophy7 million is alot to gamble and to increase the value on him the player has to be exceptional, i dont doubt that whelan would take the gamble if he felt the returns were there, but why take that chance when there are cheaper options,i seem to remember paying 3 mill or so for rodelegga after being asked to pay much more for someone else but refusing to do so, now that seems to have proved a good deal.

It is a fact that Whelan only mentioned warchest(s) once when we first arrived in the Prem. Jewell chose not to spend it.
3 June 2010 at 7:25 pm #35599We haven’t pulled out of this deal, we’ve upped the offer to the point where they have to accept.
See below – dodgy translation again I’m afraid!
Student leadership expected last night at the headquarters of Students affirmative answer by the Wigan of England in relation to the claim for transfer to Mauro Boselli in exchange for a figure close to $ 9,500,000 to share between Boca clean and Click.
This, in return for which published the portal Four Four Two in London, where he realized that Wigan would be a burden for Jackson MartÃnez, discarding the possibility of hiring Click striker.According to trusted sources close to the 53rd Street headquarters, if the offer by the Wigan was consistent with the claims set out in the counter which had risen on Saturday afternoon, neither students nor Boca sticks in the negotiation would, among other things because it exceeds the mandatory sale clause is set at the time.
It is recalled that in July 2008, when the front arrived at the click was fixed a clause stating that if it gets an offer higher than $ 9 million tax free to distribute load by the institutions, the two clubs should transfer to the attacker without objecting.
On the other hand, some British media yesterday Mauro Boselli linked with other Premier League institutions of that country, as the Sunderland or Birmingham, which had already been to the load at the time.
Anyway, Boselli start talking in English, which seems to have quite pronounced during the coming seasons.
