That Swindon Latic was writing up translated (or were they) articles from Argentina, saying it was about $9.5 mill, which is about 5.5 mill pounds, which is the same (more or less) being quoted by The Mirror ( I know, hardly anything to go by)
If that’s the case we’ll be alright, I still expect N’Zogbia to leave either this summer or in the next transfer window, so it’s not as if we’ll be skint. Judging by the fella’s record in Argentina, 6 mill looks a good price.
Hopefully he’ll be a good player if we sign him. I heard that Man Utd and Roma had been looking at him and he also caused Barcelona some problems when he played and scored against them in the world club championships.
I looking forward to seeing more of him as youtube clips are not great.
Think its actually £7.5mil which is roughley 9mil euros
Yeah, that’t what I saw on the internet as well.[/quote]
The Legend tells me the price isn’t over £7m in full, including sign on fee. Another deal may have been agreed, who knows ?
I got 6.9m sterling, which covers both clubs he is contracted to, lets just hope Uncle Dave invests in Martinez’ ability to spot a good player because with his backing i honestly do believe he will come up trumps this season, Although i also believe we need some good solid defenders, Bramble, Boyce and Figeuroa are decent players but there is a lot more to being a defender than being good in the air, distribution and man marking along with being able to hold the ball up are far more important in my eyes
On another note, Im gutted Ferdinand is injured and all that, However Ledley King poses a huge threat in the box and am looking forward to the set pieces we will have. Anyone going to jumpin jacks, £1.50 a pint for all England games, Cant wait, 1 more week fellas
Gents, at the risk of being too geeky and boring, unless you’re the club accountant, it’s pointless speculating how much the transfer fee is in Sterling.
For such a large amount of money, if they went through the banks it could easily have been done at parity or thereabouts. If payment was made through a foreign exchange broker(s), or alternatively, as the club no doubt have a Euros account, they could have bought in some currency themselves when exchange rates were more favourable, and in both cases the Sterling equivalent could be substantially less.
7.5 or 9.5 Euros: whatever, it’s a lot of money for Wigan to pay out on a player who has never played in England before.
Standish did you and your mates get half man half biscuit tickets for the Preston gig in October?.me and fil have purchased are tickets ages back. its just a waiting game now ;)

I didn’t Bob, as my Mrs made me see sense because I’ve got a new client at work, so I’ll have to wait until the 17th of this month before I know if I will be busy that Sunday.
If I’m not, I’ll be getting four tickets. And have been checking every few days to make sure they’re still available. I’ll give you a shout when/if I’ve got them.
