It has just been confirmed on SSN that Brenda Spencer has confirmed that NOTHING is happening at Wigan, and she will, and I quote Sky here be “Very surprised if anything happens before the deadline”.
Load of crap, isn’t it?
Absolute Bags. Don’t deserve support.
I tell you now, unless there is a miraculous flurry of late arrivals, we are going to do a Derby this season.
Whipping boys. Whelan out!
1 September 2009 at 7:38 pm #7569I am also disappointed, but can you tell me if you got rid of Whelan who would you replace him with?
1 September 2009 at 7:41 pm #7574Someone who’ll put their hand in their pocket.
I don’t know. You can only judge what you have.
And what we have is a tight kunt.
22 million towards Byker Grove, though, eh?

I think he’s been doing that since he came hear
1 September 2009 at 7:44 pm #7580Everyone’s tight.
1 September 2009 at 7:44 pm #7581I am also disappointed, but can you tell me if you got rid of Whelan who would you replace him with?coco the clown because at the minute where nothing but a laughing stock

Correct. With wages like £38,000 even the Sky money and tranfer fees won’t pay the bills.
1 September 2009 at 7:47 pm #7585Oh go on, indulge me.
When has he actually spent money straight from his pocket? Every time we’ve signed somebody, we’ve sold somebody.
Can you NOT accept that he’s tight?
Why do you keep sticking up for him?
ARKY- well if that’s the case, we are a fookin tin-pot club.
No wonder we are the laughing stock. The ‘Winslow Boy’ of the Premiership.
1 September 2009 at 7:48 pm #7587he makes loads of money from player sales, and then is so stingey that he doesn’t reinvest. We should have spent a bit. no £20 odd million. just about £5million. Tuncay would have been great. Stoke got there first, and fair play to them, they want to do well and aren’t scared of spending. Unlike us it would seem.
1 September 2009 at 7:50 pm #7589I for one am disappointed we have not brought a couple of additional players in and we have not sure much ambition this time around, but all this talk about get rid of Whelan is a load of sh*t. You think that these multimillion owners at other clubs give away their own hard earned cash… NO!! They take loans out against the clubs assets and most these clubs have more assets and turnover than we do (because a lot of our fans would rather watch in the pub) Whelan is not going to get the club into debt now is he? I do however think we should of spent a little of the money we have made from transfers

We got what, about 20 million from Valencia and Cattermole? Oh and what did Brown go for, summat like 500,000? I’d have expected about 10-12 million to be reinvested.
1 September 2009 at 8:00 pm #7600Dave take a chill pill or go lie down in a dark room!
Weve spent 7.9mil we got 6mil from sunderland and no one knows what we got upfront from utd for valencia but theres strong rumours they only paid less than 3.5mil with the rest on installments cos they couldnt get the money!
Maybe we havent got the money, maybe problems at the club which will be announced over the week have caused us problems, maybe whelan doesnt want to put his money in!
At the end of the day we should have a strong enough squad by now!
1 September 2009 at 8:05 pm #7601On my arse laughing at the fact that you actually think that the squad is strong enough!
That squad would be struggling in the Championship!
Deary, deary, me.
I’m off, I can’t take this anymore. It’s too much.
West Ham are going to hammer us. (No pun intended)
I’m really looking forward to going……………..not.
End of chat.
1 September 2009 at 8:06 pm #7602Thank god for that then
1 September 2009 at 8:07 pm #7605I agree with Faz – I don’t think we have a bad squad. I am worried if something happens to Hugo as we seem a bit light up front, but to be honest, playing 1 up front every game is fairly light anyway.
I am sure Whelan doesn’t want to go down on purpose, but, it is strange some of the things that have happened…£12M for Turner at Hull, but we get £6M (rising to £8M) – How is Turner £4M better?
….Crazy WAFC…
