Buy cheap buy twice
It’s not hard fella?
Trust me. Reading your first post, it is hard.
So, you’re saying we should buy more expensive players?
Fantastic.
Yes
As mighty aff explained
You go to Wigan market and buy a cheap pair of shoes, on the way home the heel falls off, so you hop back to town and another cheap pair which hurt so you buy yet another cheap pair.
Or buy the expensive pair from clarks , which last you a long time and are vary comfy
Eventually the amount you have wasted on the cheap pair cost more than if you had invested a little bit more in the first place.
Cisse, bosingwa,ji park,wright-phillips,granero, yeah nice and expensive but garbage……………jamie mackie 500,000 not bad, hard working grafter made problems for us16 December 2012 at 5:33 pm #9810616 December 2012 at 8:04 pm #98111Swansea,Norwich,wba,stoke,not flushed with cash but they seem to be doing fine,so why are we so shite, the usual argumentative duo will no doubt reply with abuseAll the above mentioned are not smack in the middle of the biggest hotbed of English football. They are not a local bus ride away from 4 of the biggest clubs in England.Geographically we could not be in a worse spot.Swansea and Norwich havent a club within 30 miles of them. When will folk realise how hard it is for us to compete and increase our fan base when 2 of our neighbours spend money like water. We have done truly remarkable to stay around this long.If staying in the Prem really means that much to some on here then they should think about following the rest of the sheep. I became a Latics fan out of love for the club not the league we were playing in.We will never be able to afford/attract top players so we need to find alternatives to survive. So far we have done exactly that.

Yes, but the shoes don’t have a choice where they go when they are bought, no matter what the price.
So, we could offer the same transfer fees and wages as other clubs yet most players would probably still not choose to come to Wigan. It’s just a fact.
In any case, as has already been pointed out, we don’t have a pot to piss in.

That’s right Edinburgh – ONLY 8 years in arguably the toughest and most expensive league in the world and with the lowest revenue streams. We spent a total of 8 years in the fourth tier and 11 + 6 years in third tier, where it took some major investment disproportionate for that division to get ourselves out. We then only spent TWO seasons in the 2nd tier before reaching the lofty heights we now find ourselves in.
I’m sure disproportionate investment in this division would have helped us build a team over 8 years (look at at Chelsea and City), but I doubt we’d have a club to show for it (look at Portsmouth). So 8 years of survival (divisional and financial), whilst often frustrating and demoralising, is actually a bl00dy amazing achievement. And if we can stay up this year, bank the bumper TV money from next year with balanced books then maybe just maybe we can start to build a team on some solid foundations and in line with the time it took us to escape the lower 2 divisions.23 December 2012 at 4:04 am #98488goodpost goodpost I’ve just come in my pants.

Credit to ‘wheeler/dealer, tax clever’ Redknapp – he’s made for some entertaining (Sky) TV today.
Effectively, not overly complimentary to his Chairman, Fernandez, who’s blabbed a riposte on Twitter.
Augers well for a great Manager-Chairman relationship
