8 May 2013 at 3:40 am #112597is shite as I said a few weeks ago and got slated for it HE IS SHITE PAST IT AND NO PACEGiven that had Alcaraz, Ramis and Figueroa been fit to play tonight he wouldn’t have even started, what is your point exactly?
8 May 2013 at 10:29 am #112602Fair to say Caldwell did not play well but he was not the worst player on the pitch, and that pass for our second goal was fantastic!
As a group the defence was poor and that includes Robles, i think he played a part early in the game in unsettling our defence. Espinoza doesn’t get a mention but what the fook was he trying to do for Swanseas third goal?8 May 2013 at 10:36 am #112604I hope he never plays for us again.
What the hell was he doing for that second goal?
8 May 2013 at 11:02 am #112609For all his faults as a defender, the second goal showed that if you are positive and come forward with pace you can create chances and actually score a bloody goal.
Why don’t we do that more often instead of trying to bore the opposition to death with pass after pass?
8 May 2013 at 11:16 am #112613If Caldwell wasnt fit then why wasnt golobart given a chance
8 May 2013 at 1:04 pm #112627It was a shocking mistake but how the feck did that ball go in the net from there.
Luck has now deserted us. That is all. We just shouldn’t be relying on luck.
8 May 2013 at 1:34 pm #112640Suicidal defending, for an experienced player it’s inexplicable really. I heard he is going to have retire at end of season due to a long standing hip injury, not sure how true that is.

8 May 2013 at 2:28 pm #112658Blame Caldwell all you like coz he’s an easy target who people pick on. Poor pass for their second bug also set one up
By no means the best player on the pitch but by no means the worst – in my humble opinion that honour goes to Emmerson Boyce. I thought he had an absolute stinkerAgree with you 100% there Tyldesley.
8 May 2013 at 2:35 pm #112663Our tactics are shocking always looking to pass back instead of going forward been like that for a few seasons now
Agree teams just bide their time and pick us off for fun.fooking abowt with the ball, has cost us agood few games this season.[/quote]
So if a player has the ball and there’s nobody free in front of him, what would prefer they do? Hit it forwards and hope the opposition don’t get it? It’s called retaining possession and lots of teams do it these days. The problem isn’t the passing game. The problems are not putting chances away and making silly mistakes at the back.
8 May 2013 at 2:46 pm #112670The problem isn’t the passing game. The problems are not putting chances away and making silly mistakes at the back. Some of the silly mistakes that happen come from the over exaggerated passing at the back though. Caldwell and Figs in the last three games. I like the way we play with the qualification that we overpass it for passing sake sometimes.
In the second half last night, especially when Nathan Dyer came on, it was clear that they were pressing us with great effect and that in some instances passing across our box would be almost suicidal but we still did.
I’ve said before it’s a fine line because some of the passing at the back has created space that has led to great goals but there has to be some common sense as regards when to push your luck and when to realise its best to not take very risky passes on.

I’ve just put it on another thread, players need common sense when making a decision whether to pass it in a dangerous position or just clear it, and unfortunately one or two of our players seem to lack that common sense at times.
I’m pretty damn sure Martinez’s coaching staff don’t instruct the players to pass it square – across goal and when a player is bearing down on them.
