Is there a strong case for starting both on the bench Sunday? I know Everton were poor but I thought we looked defensively sound last Saturday.

Completely agree Tipperary. Whether the manager does however, is an entirely different matter.

Couldn’t agree more, no disrespect to them both (and Di Santo for that matter) we’re very grateful of the help they’ve offered us but for me they aren’t in the best 11 we have anymore. With Antolin back now, and with Joel in goal we look a lot more sound at the back.

        Totally agree.

Both should be on the bench, along with Di Santo, for that matter, not just for this game, for the rest of the season, Al Habsis, confidence is shot, and Caldwell. simply not good enough, with Kone, back firing on all cylinders, and Maloney playing in the hole, just behind him Di Santo is surplus, plus he doesnt, or never even look like scoring, the de,sired level of goals, needed at this level,I have my doubts if he would score in the Championship, if the dreaded happens, we should have taken what we could have got for him, in the Jan Transfer window, with his reluctance to sign a new deal.

These two need a long spell on the bench. Preferably until August.

Greetings comrades – I haven’t posted for yonks!

I’d like to see Di Santo back this weekend.

He was an essential part of the team in the fantastic performance at Reading. And he did score a great, point-saving goal at Fulham.

I’m happy to see Alcaraz back and the squad one member stronger. I think I would prefer him to play against Newcastle.

Robles played well against Everton, but hasn’t really been tested yet. I would be happy to see Al Habsi back in goal.

                      JR,

I can assure you that I’m not a “bandwagoner”. Been watching Latics for close on 20 years. Work and fatherhood take up most of my time these days. Still get to a few games a season though, home and away. In fact, we’ve won 3 of the 4 games I’ve been to this season (Southampton away, Reading away and West Ham at home).

Maybe I should get to more games?!

I’m just intrigued why the sudden urge to come on here after 20 years watching them. Your work and fatherhood didn’t stop you from posting for all that time did it? B)

OK I’ve no problem with personal remarks to long in the tooth for that, so which one is it then, band waggoner or multi? :P
