He’s going nowhere.
23 October 2016 at 12:42 pm #151678It’s the only thing the whelans trust and it let’s them keep the back room staff. For me bring sherwood inIm confused. First you want jones in, then sherwood. What exactly do you think either will do. One isnt proven at managerial level, & the other has hardly set the world alight at management level.
23 October 2016 at 1:13 pm #151679I didn’t say I wanted Jones, I wrote I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s ere before Xmas,
23 October 2016 at 1:43 pm #151680Please no Jones. Bobby mark 3.
23 October 2016 at 1:56 pm #151681Please no Jones. Bobby mark 3.So do you want mckay or coyle mark 2 then donny.
23 October 2016 at 2:09 pm #151682Caldwell out first, then we will see which managers want the job, I predict quite a few will apply.
23 October 2016 at 2:33 pm #151683As i have mentioned on another thread, the problem at the moment is that whilst we are creating chances (& yes i admit we didn’t create many yesterday), we are not converting those chances. That is not caldwell’s fault. It is the players on the pitch who can’t convert. It makes no difference whatsoever whether we play with one striker, 2, 3, 4 or more. If we dont convert those chances we will struggle. & it is not solely grigg’s impetus to score all the time. There are 9 other outfield players to do that as well.
We have tightened up at the back. We could do nothing with that goal yesterday. Once it did go in, it was plain to see how the confidence just simply drained out of them. I agree that caldwell was at fault with his substitution immediately after the goal. I have already stated on another thread what i believe he should have done after the goal.
We as a team just need to start scoring goals, which we are not. & as i have stressed, that is not caldwells fault.
23 October 2016 at 4:12 pm #151685For me Caldwell is not (or should not) be in danger yet. This is an incredibly long season and we’re not quite 1/4 way through so a little early to be pulling the trigger IMHO.
That said, we do need to see real signs of progress pretty soon.
I reckon the key time will be the Derby home game on 3rd December. If we’re still in the bottom 3 after that game, then the manager’s position for me will be seriously in doubt.
The black clouds really formed over the ground today; was that an omen for Caldwell?
We have passed the quarter way through mark and before we know it it will be halfway! Like I said, give him 3, maybe 4 more games and if things don’t improve get rid because otherwise we will go down!
23 October 2016 at 4:42 pm #151686Caldwell out first, then we will see which managers want the job, I predict quite a few will apply.Personally i dont want caldwell sacked, but im surprised no one has mentioned a former england manager yet.
23 October 2016 at 4:47 pm #151687Sven would be good
23 October 2016 at 5:01 pm #151688Alf Ramsey?
23 October 2016 at 5:30 pm #151689Like Sam Allardyce would consider “Little” Wigan even if we could afford to pay him. Dream On. !!
The man who could and would have got us moving in the right direction has been snapped up by Cardiff.
There are no managers available with the nous and experience needed if GC was sacked – which he won’t be at the moment ‘cos he’s Sharpy’s mate.
Its similar to last seasons doom and gloom at this stage. However we were drawing games then before everything suddenly clicked into place and we started to dominaste and win games.
However this league is finding out some of the players – there are some big sides out there and Perkins looks like a 12 year old boy sometimes. Power is also struggling to adapt to this level. Wildshut when he plays is awful. Speed but nothing else. Powell?? Well if he was half as good as he thinks he is would be OK at best.I’d play Gomez every time.
GC needs to decide on a set team and system and stick with it. We need some stability.
If we get that then I’m sure things will improve and we will start to move up.Mid table at this point will do.
23 October 2016 at 5:53 pm #151690Agree…tired of same old rhetoric of how were not getting mullered, how wev’e tightened up at the back, how things haven’t gone our way..Blah,Blah……..His signings poor, substitutions unfathomable, play arse numbingly dull, don’t score, hardly look like scoring,Morsey starting for a better side,Gomez sat on his arse,Grigg face like a walloped arse yesterday (rightly so).As for passing us to death ,1 effort on goal in 90 mins yesterday, same at Preston and nearly every game so far. ? Here we go again……..remember that “too good to go down ” cat crap….Wakey Wakey it’s a lie. 2 games at most for me and that’s being generous….don’t think all is hunky Dory amongst the players if the jungle drums are to be heeded, the trap door is getting oiled.
