I thought the point of these boards was to express an opinion…..and not blindly agree with everything done by the players and staff.

I’ll always support whatever 11 players are wearing the blue and white stripes through the 90 minutes, as I have for the last 30 years.

That doesn’t stop me thinking that most of the football I’ve seen under Martinez has been defensive, dull, ponderous, predictable, lacking in width and attacking intent. In short, boring.

But when he’s been forced into a corner, he’s inspired his team to some exceptional periods of play and performances. And he’s kept our team in the top division for two more seasons. For that, he deserves a lot of credit.

Its a shame that some people still seem to believe their criticism of the team was the right way forward.

For one I believe we should support no matter what, and being positive through the season was a better way to approach life and supporting the latics. But each to their own.

Am sure once we make our first signing and give away our first goal in pre-season, they will be back to criticise.

For now we should all enjoy. When are the fixtures out :)

fair enough we were bad for the first half of the season but surely everyone can see that for most games since feburary we have been great? or am i asking for too much

Wouldnt say we have been great! However we have improved, rode our luck at times but thank god we are still in the Premier League

I think its more a case of people believing that on a public internet forum that they are perfectly entitled to say what they think about the team, the manager, players & fellow supporters
Not thinking Martinez was particularly up to the job doesn’t (IMO) make anyone not a true supporter. The club is in our blood & the majority on here would still be Latics supporters if we had gone down, and then gone down again & again
We should, I believe, be able to praise when things are going right & if we do that then we should be able to criticise if things aren’t going right.
There is a world of difference from venting your spleen & frustrations on to a computer & venting it at the players & managers during a game. For all the grief Bobby has had from the “darkside” he has had next to nothing within the stadiums – sure a bit of booing here & there during bad performances but nothing compared to what you’ll hear from supporters of other clubs towards their manager or indeed like other Latics managers have had in the past (John Benson went 20 odd games undefeated at the start of a season & was still getting pelters from the crowd)

Bobby has made mistakes & will continue to do so. I still see him making some of the same mistakes he was making at the start of his reign but I also see him learning from some of those mistakes & addressing them. He’s also kept us in this division for 2 years & progressed from last season to this & I hope he continues to do so
