PS A new match record of 62lb was achieved this week at Withnell Fold. A cracking wieght for a non-commercial fishery don’t you think?
john i may be wrong – but i think that may be a Prince Albert – withnell match record –
now dont quote me on this but many years ago, the first person i ever saw fishing dog biscuits off the top for carp in a match was a certain owner of an ince based fishing tackle manufacturer(you know the one – marine animal 8 legs) he broke the match record at garswood hall AC’s middle place and i was told he had done the same the day before on withnell AC’s lower lake with 100lb of chum mixer caught carp.
irrespective of that 62lb is indeed a cracking match weight, one i have only bettered in ireland, once on the ribble (i drew the salmon pool run off peg)in PA super league match and had a dozen chub and 40lb of dace for 73lb ish, and on commies.
