After only 2 seasons Swansea are playing great football & actually holding there own in the perm & in Huw Jenkins they have a chairman with a bit of nous & vision,as for us we seem to be stagnating as a club and going backwards,one win in umpteen games against a very poor reading side and some people seem to think we are world beaters.
You better get yourself holed up in your bunker with comments like that. They don’t like it up em Mr Mainwaring ! ;)

Your own chairman played professionally took over a club within days of going out of buisness rock bottom of the 4th division.He told the world that in 10 yrs that tiny club would be playing in the Premier League AND DELIVERED.He brought in a manager who with not that much money spent then guided us to a record winning league title and who went on to get us out of the championship (supposedly the hardest league to get out of) in only his 2nd attempt.A man who went to the football league who wanted to throw us out of the league because of the state of the ground begging to give us another season and won a reprieve. The same man who gave us the great home we now have.The same man who is working tirelessly to make the academy and facilities something to be proud of.And the same man who is also funding a new facility for the youth of our wonderful town.

I remember Kidderminster kicking up a stink when they were refused entry to the football league due to ground requirements & they pointed out that neither Latics nor Barnet had the required amount of seating but they weren’t thrown out of the league. That must have been in about 1994 or thereabouts

From memory not a lot was done to Springfield Park between then & 1999 or did the FL just want to see evidence that our new place was being built?[/quote]Your right about the league wanting proof about the then JJB but we were under threat of expulsion.The craziest example of the whole ground worthyness issue came when Macclesfield were informed that Moss Rose was not fit to be a football league ground and I seem to think that they were not allowed to be promoted although they were Conference champions.Problem with that being that Chester City still in the league were sharing Moss Rose with Macc whilst the Diva Stadium was being built.
