What a shocking performance that was. I am sure Leam will have told James McClean to get down the line and ping some crosses in (otherwise what’s the point in having two big men up front), I don’t think he crossed it once he seems to have lost that pace that once made him such a threat. Max Power was terrible in midfield, Will Keane was very poor, in fact nobody came out of that debacle with any credit apart from maybe Charlie Wyke who scored from a ‘cross’ wow ! . What really concerns me is our left hand side . We don’t seem to have a decent left back and teams have started to target that area. Bennett was poor, their right winger had him on toast and it was no surprise when he was subbed. Just when we get a bit of momentum after scoring ,we concede a free kick on our left hand side and they scored from it , just like the last home game against Reading. P..S poor defending , schoolboy stuff.
We have been taught some harsh lessons in the last few games, we need to start learning otherwise we are in big trouble. Anyway on to Blackburn Tuesday night, we can’t play any worse ……..can we ?9 October 2022 at 8:08 am #197186I’d have to agree with your assessment phoenix. However & personally, I thought Power had a decentish game. Not his best, but certainly not his worst either. McClean has gone IMO. Just doesn’t have the pace anymore to take people on. Unless he has lost his confidence somewhere along the line.
9 October 2022 at 9:23 am #197187Two target men,no wingers and absolutely zero pace on the pitch. Liam obsession with Magennis is worrying. Only pace is Broadhead who should be starting with either Wyke or Fletcher. As soon as I heard 2 target men with no supply chain I thought another struggle. Bennett is not his 1st choice and easy to see why . A team of hard working players,no pace,no left back and a manager who cannot decide on hi best 11 and set up doesn’t bode well. Just tothink last week I actually believed we had a good shot at play offs but the chap effort at Hull was trumped at home. Nearer relegation zone now.
9 October 2022 at 9:24 am #197188Were giving our players a hard time when infact I thought Cardiff played really well.
Got to agree, pointless having to big guys up front with no width and crosses. McClean has gone, I said last year 60mins is his max then he fades, he just doesn’t have the legs and now a year older and a tougher League it’s showing.Power wasn’t that bad he just got outplayed. The one thing everyone overlooks is the defence. It was far too easy yesterday for Cardiff far too easy
9 October 2022 at 10:23 am #197189To me it was all about pace. They looked a league above us. This lump ball to Magennis and now Magennis/Wyke failed miserably, so why persist ?….Blackburn 7 wins,6 losses so they are beatable, but not with this system. Danny Rose fit looking attractive to me now after Bennets display.
9 October 2022 at 10:49 am #197190If we can get Rose to sign & hence get him back to fitness, we solve our LB position.
9 October 2022 at 11:27 am #197191What the fuck as Tom Pearce done wrong, its ok to say LR doesn’t fancy him so why was the lad given a new contract?
Richardson needs to get this sorted and fast, stop shoe horning his favourites in the team and showing loyalty to the players that got us promoted otherwise League 1 again next season.
Fuck the EFL
9 October 2022 at 12:06 pm #197192Christ and now we being investigated by the FA for having different sized goals. One had a crossbar 2 inches above regulations!!!….

I’ll bet Cardiff aren’t complaining, any idea who found this out, someone must have reported it, was that why the game was delayed at the start?
Fuck the EFL
9 October 2022 at 12:52 pm #1971959 October 2022 at 12:53 pm #197196Cardiff backroom staff spotted and reported it. Delay was then having to recalibrate Hawk Eye.
9 October 2022 at 1:37 pm #197197Regarding Pearce, there’s one thing he can do and he does very well is hit a cross early and at pace. LR simply doesn’t fancy him and will p1ss around using everyone else bar Pearce.
As someone mentioned earlier, if your face doesn’t fit that’s it. I read a Cardiff fans match report which said they could understand Wigan playing 2 big guys up front considering the type of goals Cardiff have conceded this season but without crosses it was simply pointless.
So……..Who’s to blame?
Wyke
Magennis
Or
Liam Richardson ?
LR chops and changes weekly based on the oppositions line up. What we need is a settled side and concentrate on us not them and fookin stop over thinking it.Broadhead for me is they key, he needs to start every game. There’s goals in him for sure but does his face fit along with Scully and Pearce ?. As for Cousins ?, right him off
9 October 2022 at 4:16 pm #197199overall i think that the collective comments pretty much cover the situ ! BUT , once again , i must raise the subject of the ‘ officials’ ..infringement awarded to Cardiff INSIDE pen area , taken well outside the box , ball being literally ‘ hoofed’ away after a free kick to us . free kick to us on the halfway line when we were outside/ near their pen area , most ‘ professional infringements ‘ commited by Cardiff unchecked . time wasting . feigning injury .. on and on etc . I can accept defeat etc , but these twats are now beyond the pale ..mark my words .. there is ‘ an agenda ‘ lightning and all that
9 October 2022 at 10:14 pm #197200We did wonder what the delay to the start of play was as it surely wasn’t due to crowd congestion
If, and it’s a big if, the goal posts were the wrong height, there’s a very simple solution. It will be known in Wigan as the Lindsay rule. The goalposts will be cemented into the ground and cannot ever be removed, literally not an inch
F**k the EFL
10 October 2022 at 3:57 am #197202Returning to the subject of our lack of pace, isn’t one of our quickest players plying his trade in Scotland ?? I for one wouldn’t have packed him off.
