I think Lopez has been a rock !!

      #70657

      a rock never

I thought Lopez was excellent yesterday.

So ‘Albert’ which one is he? The one who isn’t good enough or the one who is slow?

I think we all know who the slow one is !! Milk turns faster than that mon ! In fact I would describe one as a rock and the other more glacial !!

Caldwell gets pretty bad reviews from a lot of fans. He is a 100%er and never shys away from a tackle. Admittedly, he can be a bit rash but a lot of the negativity he gets I think is unfair. Lopez does a job and is a good squad member and looks to have settled more into English football since last season. Wouldn’t mind seeing a loan signing or permanent signing of the lad Onouha from Man City. Can play all across the back 4.

Maybe so Fil, but I want ‘Albert’ to justify why Lopez isn’t good enough after seeing him play twice.

For the record, I thought Caldwell also had a decent game yesterday.

cost us a goal against norwich any good center half would have put the ball in row z just not strong enough i know only 2 games but against better teams will get a run around

I’ve got a good feeling about this lad and I think he might prove you wrong.

Don’t think we are too bad in that area. I realise Alcaraz is out for a couple of months but the ones who have stood in up to now have let one goal in, in 3 games.
I know you could say we’ve only played “championship” teams but nevertheless they’ve done alreet.

The trump card for me is Boycie, he can slot in at CH no probs at any time and do a job. Stam and the nearly fit Gohouri will not let us down at RB.

I think Bobby will be more concerned about the LB position more than any. If Figs gets injured or suspended there is a bit of shuffling to do. Piscu would be OK but as we saw in the Norwich game he is not that comfortable when defending the LB position.

            From Matlock to ManU
            What a journey!

Gary Caldwell may indeed get some bad press…………….but, he is the only one that gets in the face of the officials (I know captain and all that), fouls, hits and ‘welcomes’ the strikers to the DW. His critics say he is slow, clumsy and not up to it….however, when the attacking players get hit – they stay hit (who the fu£k do people want in defence ….Thomas O’Malley).

To take up your point of ‘left back’…..we do not seem to have one. I am sick to the back teeth of watching “Figs” get sucked into a central position leaving acres of space in that area (better teams will exploit) and this was apparent even last season; the lad needs either a move or better ‘coaching’ ( ;) ).

As for playing ‘championship’ teams – I agree….they come up with confidence, aggression, vigour, continuity and great team ethic. It was a baptism of fire for them – they didn’t get the points they thought they would (every team in this league has a right to be here) and will now start to look over their shoulders – we have weathered the ‘storm’.

Finally, what I think, less out and less in is good for me. We keep the ‘dressing room’, we build (mentally) on what we have, retain cohesion and understanding, and reward…………….loyalty.

We should fear no one this season……..
