I know Dunkley was well out of order with his punch but can something not be done retrospectively about the blatant cheating by Pitman.
To actually try to get a fellow professional sent off by feigning contact and collapsing to the floor in an act that changed the game and give his side a point is blatant cheating. The authorities should come down hard on this horrible club and award all three points to us and ban Pitman for ten matches.
What can we expect from Pompey though with their cheating and bending of the rules for years and from cheating people out of millions of pounds in the past.
I suppose a bit of dramatics is nothing compared to the antics of their previous owners and one particular manager in the past but come on there must at least be a ban for Pitman.28 August 2017 at 4:36 pm #161559One of the worst for me was when Wilshire went down when N’Zogbia blew on him at the DW and got sent off always hated him from then onwards, hope he ends up at Hartlepool(as a monkey mascot)

Iconic cheating moment.

Fuck the EFL
28 August 2017 at 6:29 pm #161562The authorities have supposedly set up a panel to review these things on Mondays. There was an article on the Sky website about this:
They are supposed to be able to hand out bans “If all three members of the panel agree that a player successfully tricked the referee into awarding a penalty or getting a rival sent off, via a straight red card or yellow card that leads to a dismissal, a charge will follow which carries a two-match ban.”
So perhaps this could be referred to them – but I don’t know who does it!

In this case he attempted to trick the ref but Dunkley had been a Pillock and deserved to go anyway. Pitman didn’t need to have done his dramatics.
29 August 2017 at 12:19 am #161573I agree, but all the replays I’ve seen show him going down holding his face as if he’d been hit by Mayweather when actually Dunkley caught his chest. In my book that’s cheating!
I agree that Dunkley shouldn’t escape his punishment, but if the FA/EFL want to cut out cheating then here is their chance to set an example.
29 August 2017 at 1:22 am #161574There are many examples around of the blatant cheating that goes on in games when trying to get players booked and/or sent off which adds support to the argument for retrospective punishments. This isn’t one of them.
29 August 2017 at 5:56 am #161576The key words are “tricked the referee”.
The Portsmouth player clearly over-reacted, but the referee wasn’t tricked. Dunkerley swung his arm, and was correctly sent off. Even had the Pompey player stayed on his feet Chey would have walked. So I don’t think this is a good example.29 August 2017 at 11:17 am #16157729 August 2017 at 12:54 pm #161581Do you bookmark all this kind of stuff or just store it in your memory banks? Either way it’s a pretty sad obsessive life you lead.

29 August 2017 at 1:25 pm #161583To me the over reacting and feigning he had been hit in the face when obviously he hadn’t is cheating.

No matter what the provocation the ref will send a player off the minute he raises a hand, fist head in retaliation. Tilders is the best one to clarify the officials position.
