I expect us to get beat quite easily, but we need to be realistic after then we will have played 7 games probably lost 5, 5 of the 7 will have been against teams that finished in the top 6 last season, and we will have 6 points. Most fans at the start of the season where saying if we had 6-7 points after that run of games they would be happy.
Right on plan i would say.
By the start of November, we will have a better idea.
Let’s see how many points we take from Hull, Burnley, and Portsmouth away games. I’d take 4, but I’m not confident.
A lot of people are putting forward that argument, but, unfortunately, it’s only half the story. It’s not just the results, but it’s how the team are playing and there are plenty of alarm bells ringing at the moment. My biggest concern remains how watertight the defence isn’t. This was a problem the second half of last season, remained one in pre-season and doesn’t seem to have improved much since. Even more worrying is that the defence hasn’t changed since last year (though the midfield has!).
Since last January, we’ve sold our pivotal centre forward, and our ENTIRE midfield!
Our form in the run-in last season was awful. It was relegation form. But we’d already got enough points.
We’re shipping too many soft goals, and goals from set pieces. Not making these teams work for their victory. It’s a stroll.
