If Caldwell thinks he’s that good why didnt we keep him?[/quote]
Obviously he doesn’t think he is that good or he would have kept him but football managers can not just come out and say it.
Just like Pearce, we hear one thing then another. If Messi played for Latics and he was homesick, would we just let him go. No! It’s just decorated up shite. He went for another reason but transparency doesn’t exist in football. They spoon us any shite they want.
Was it Tim Chow who was released previously by Latics, and Gary Caldwell ressurected his career and gave him another chance? I may be wrong, not sure.
Anyway, unfotyunately for him he has failed to take that chance and Gary Caldwell and his team have obviously realised this and decided, like most of us, that he is not improving at a fast enough rate to be good enough for the league that we we now play in.
Good luck to him, but sentiment counts for nothing in football. He is a nice, neat and tidy looking footballer, but he doesn’t have that extra bit of strength or pace needed, especially for someone who also doesn’t have that killer pass in him.
I have a feeling the same may happen with Flores as I haven’t seen much to make me think he could replace any of the midfielders we currently have in the team/squad.
Young Burke looks to be a different kettle of fish altogether and I think we may see more of him in the coming months if he continues to impress the management. He reminds me of a young Bainsy, but obviously on the opposite flank.
Damn shame as we all love a wiganer, but I’m sure his game time would have been very limited as we have so many others that fit the bill better.
Shame we cant swap some for forwards!

Correct HORC; Malky ditched him then Gary gave him another chance. A workman like player but I don’t think he would ever get into our all time to ten midfielders.
