Class outfit that cannot be denied. Lacked a decent striker though.
Scum bag fans lacking any class. Possibly worst fans I can ever remember in many a year.20 February 2018 at 7:40 pm #166696The playing of wonderwall at the end kicked it off!
20 February 2018 at 7:50 pm #166697Irony is above them. Now Citeh of all fans should understand a bit of humour. I would think it’s more a case of sour grapes and any excuse to throw bottles, vandalise the stadium, attack stewards and fight with police. Plainly and simply crying because of losing.
20 February 2018 at 8:09 pm #166698As much as I dislike City, I don’t think we can be putting everything on to them. I don’t like people running on the pitch at the best of times, but when a section of our fans just line up in front of them it isn’t to wish them well and say jolly bad luck to them. It was done purely to get a reaction. They got one. There were 2 parties involved last night.

I’ve just been arguing on a Facebook group with a so called Latics fan called Danny Urmston. He’s not liking the fact that I’ve actually stuck up for Aguero. Sky Sports and Media are doing their best to get him done for assault….he never assaulted anyone. Whatever way you look at it, and regardless of if you hate City, and Aguero, or are indifferent to them (like myself) The facts are:
1. Supporters should NOT have been on the pitch.
2. Aguero should NOT have been confronted like that. Some say he was spat at.
3. I had commented earlier in the night at the serious low level of policing for the crowd.
4. The stewards were absolutely useless.
5. Media conveniently not mentioning city fans wrecking the away end.The club is partly to blame…cost cutting maybe? I don’t know. But the media are having a field day here and it’s overshadowing our victory which is terrible.
What I don’t like, is this recent rise in sensationalist media reporting, mainly by Sky Sports, but others are guilty as well. There are calls to ban Aguero for 5 games….which is ridiculous. He did nothing wrong, was confronted as he left his place of work, by some stupid little bastard who probably never comes near the DW usually. The amount of people asking me for tickets at 5pm last night was unreal. People who have never ever been. We sat in our ST seats and had 5 City fans sat in front of us. How did they get seats there?
Some people are wanting us kicked out the cup because of what happened.
That dickhead who confronted Aguero, get him traced and then ban him for life with a big fine too. It turned into a free for all last night with parents taking their kids on for a jolly, it took the piss. I bet 85% were gloryhunters as well.
All this nonsense is seriously tainting what we did last night.
20 February 2018 at 8:42 pm #166702This is disappointing to read. My memories of Citeh fans before and after both our last cup games was how good they were. How much fun they were and how honourable they were in defeat.
20 February 2018 at 8:43 pm #166703I wonder how many of those who went on to the pitch last night will be at the game on Saturday.
20 February 2018 at 8:48 pm #166705Vat69 Spot on.. just because we are Latics fans shouldn’t mean we are blind to see what some of our so called ‘fans’ get up to. Most people would react as Aguero did, if an idiot approached you like that. He may be a footballer but he is only human
20 February 2018 at 9:03 pm #166707Pitch invasions nearly always end up with a bad reaction at some point. Until people get some serious action taken against them it will continue to happen. It happens at the end of seasons and delay laps of honour and it gets on my nerves.
20 February 2018 at 9:14 pm #166709I wonder how many of those who went on to the pitch last night will be at the game on Saturday.Exactly. Before the game last night, someone called Thomas Disley was on a local facebook buy and sell site, asking if anybody had 4 tickets going. I sniffed a clear gloryhunter/Wiganer city hanger on. So I said I hadn’t, but that I had some Rochdale tickets going. (Not really) I just wanted to see his response…..
“Why would I want those?” Absolute effing bell end. I told him so, too.
If we get past Southampton, I hope the club give season ticket holders a set window to get tickets, and not make it a free for all, queueing round the stadium for 5 hours.
20 February 2018 at 9:22 pm #166710City fans did the same last time in the cup at dw.when we beat I’m a few years ago.ripping advertising boards down.i don’t remember a pitch invasion then.total shithouses.vat it wont be the first pitch invasion and it won’t be the last.chill out fella.
20 February 2018 at 9:24 pm #166711Two things the club should have done. First, tell everyone to stay off the pitch. Remember the promotion game to Prem? We stayed off the pitch then because the message was put out loud and clear that there would be no lap of honour if we came on.
Secondly, just in case, get a line of stewards in front of the City stand. I couldn’t believe how long it took for the police and stewards to get over there. Whenever there’s a pitch invasion, there will always be a minority of knobheads running over to the away end to try and get a rise out of them.
20 February 2018 at 9:24 pm #166712I’ll be amazed if club doesn’t get fined for events of last night.
However, we should highlight the damage done by City fans in the away end, too.
Hate to say it, but somebody really dropped a clanger last night with the apparent low level of Policing, visible within the stadium. I was on robin park before the game, and it seemed that several vanloads of police were taken to the railway stations and town centre. Saw the vans coming back.
But in the actual stadium, there wasn’t enough visible presence, not for a 20k crowd with 5000 visitors. Was it cost cutting? Bad decision, that. The stewards we have are the same firm who do gigs and pop concerts. They are all fine and well at Elton John gigs, but useless at football matches.Didn’t notice any visible steward ring at full time to prevent a pitch invasion. Whoever is responsible…dropped a clanger.
The DW Stadium design. Terrible for Policing and segregation. Changes are needed at the away end. Should build on a Police control room in N.E. corner, or at least have a heavy presence.

Anybody who was on the pitch and can be traced should be done. All this shit caused by Muppets who won’t even be there on Saturday. The finest night ever at the stadium, and outstanding night and it’s be being ruined by all this crap.
The ones who went on the pitch, broke the law. That’s the be all and end all of it.
20 February 2018 at 9:31 pm #166714I think there should be a fine, it was unacceptable, and if I was the club I would identify who went on and try to work a way to pass the fine on to them.
Big celebration overshadowed.
I disagree about segregation, we have perfect segregation, i.e. a separate stand. -
