As i said i truly believe martinez is being used as a pawn in whelans master plan”

Loudmouth, what are you going on about? So you think Dave Whelan wants out so badly that he appointed a manager who he thought would take us down so that he could then get rid of the club?

Why would Whelan who has spent his hard earned money on our club and invested years in getting us to where we are want to get rid of the club in such a fashion and then, to top it all off, make sure he loses loads of money into the bargain.

If he wants out, he will sell the club when it is most valuable which is not in the fizzy pop league.

Whelan is sentimental as he showed by taking his hometown club into the Premiership in true Roy of the Rovers fashion. However he is also a businessman and has made sure we have balanced the books by selling players over the last two or three years.

He won’t sell the club for a pittence, he’ll look to get as much as he can for it.

‘He won’t sell the club for a pittence, he’ll look to get as much as he can for it.’

Well he’d better be doing because the way its going he wont have much choice!

LMB wrote; I was laughed at 18 months ago when i claimed his style of play would not work, and i will repeat now what i said then, “the better, richer, top teams will out football you and the lesser teams will out muscle us, or hoof us off the park and martinez has not modified his tactics to adapt to this reality and it seems he never will.
hence my question if he thinks it was acceptable to play this way despite it clearly not working.

And you may be laughed at even more after 2 years, if we finish 15th or above this season.
You go missing when we win or play well, you moan your fekin yed off, post after post, when we lose or play bad.
As I’ve said before, give it a rest FFS, we know what your opinion is, you don’t have to force it down people’s throats.
No matter how much you go on, it won’t change the feelings of the true fans. I’m not happy with our current position, our play warrants / deserves better results but its just not happening. Getting rid of Bobby won’t mean things will get better. We are who we are, if you think any manager including the likes of SAF and Jose Murhino, will automatically take us to the dizzy heights of Europe, then your a bigger buffoon than me and most other people on here already think you are. :o ;)

you claim i go missing when we win or play well – judging by that statement i havent gone missing very often this season-
if you care to look back it will expose your theory as a complete untruth,on perhaps the only 2 occasions we have played well this season spurs away and the liverpool game i commented on that fact -look it up its in the board archives –
i “go missing” periodically off here but that has nothing to do with the infrequent wins or “good play”.

do you honestly believe that as your claim that our play warrants/deserves better results, well apart from the bolton and liverpool game which other game have we deserved more from – if there are any it is somewhat balanced by winning the west brom or wolves games when we probably didnt deserve a win.

you seem to believe that if either myself or anyone else dare criticise martinez we are somehow not true fans –
take a look on all the previous incarnations of this board or any of the others and there is not one post of me saying anything against any previous manager i have always supported those men in there jobs because all had something martinez doesnt have, ability !

one thing that we do seem to agree on is “Getting rid of Bobby won’t mean things will get better. ” your statement here is bang on, but what i do know is if he stays things wont get better.
I dont expect the “dizzy heights of europe”from wigan athletic, what i do expect is some heart and effort from both the players and management,
i ask you as a supporter of martinez and his tactics/style of play and a “true supporter” of wigan athletic the question i would like to put to martinez:-

do you find it acceptable that we can play a full 90 + minutes of football without making the opposition goal keeper make a save of any significance as is happening more and more with martinez’s set up and how his teams play ?

        #52287

You only have to listen to the reports on our games to prove your bang on Lmb mate, “toothless Wigan”, “Wigan have offered very little” etc after every game. They cant all be wrong but I still think we have just too many foreigners in the squad as well as the gaffers failings. Look at Blackpool no superstars but they have fight and spirit something a lot of overseas players dont afford you and thats a question i would want answering “why do we capitulate so easy”?

Now just think if we had got the 6 points from the 2 games, even you admit we should have won, then we would be in a league position that everyone, including you, would be satisfied with at the end of the season. [14th]

However, you would probably still be moaning that the fekin pies are too hot or the stewards coats are too bright.

It just so happens that I feel we should be about 7-8 points better off for the performances this season.[IMHO]
Its all about consistency now, not formations, tactics etc.
We have shown this season that we can compete with and beat the best, we have also shown, too often that when we are bad, we are really, really bad.

I for one will continue to believe that the consistency will come and that Bobby will get there. If you and others don’t then that’s your opinion. It’s a Wigan Athletic passion thing with me that’s been there since non-league days and will still be with me when Bobby’s moved to better things or been forced out. I love my team not the manger or players, they come and go like the white stuff falling outside.

When we win or play well I don’t come on trying to say that you’re wrong and Bobby is the bees knees, I suggest you to do the same when we lose and play bad. That’s football sunshine, live with it or go and watch crown green bowling or summut.

i suggest you read a book by john irving called the world according to garp – but seeing as you are not very bright they turned into a film for the less literary minded, but take it from me it does lose something in the hollywood adaptation,

i said we were the better team and played well in the games against bolton and liverpool and deserved more -which you misquote me by saying i thought we should have won – you then drift off into a fantasy world, like garp tends to do ,and omit the fact that i ALSO said we got more out of the wolves and wba games than we deserved, you can also add the fact that spurs did everything but score against us which was perhaps another fortuitous 3 points but that again is speculating.
we are were we are in the league because we are crap, results lucky or unlucky balance themselves out and the worst team is always bottom and from what everybody else, press, pundits, other teams fans and many of our own fans think we are certainly close runners for that worst tag,and that is down to martinez.

nuneaton we have had foreigners in the squad before but at least they had some heart – perhaps this time as you say we just have too many, but when there is no direction the management structure always collapses no matter what walk of life – thats why snipers seek out officers in war situations, chain of command – and that, not just the foreign players is the problem at the club.

blackpool remind me of us in the first season in the premier league all heart, never say die spirit, never give up and not afraid to have a go and most of all a manager who is a master of motivation – compare that to the team that went one nil down at arsenal last night – with a manager whos sideline motivational routine is to jab 2 fingers into the palm of his hand then twizzle them about.

Cut out the I quoted, you quoted bollux, you insinuated that we were the better team in two games thus perhaps deserving the full 3 points in each.

I bet you’re one of those fans that start moaning 3 mins into a game. Did you sort out your “martinez out” banner by the way?

I’ve also got a book for you to read. It’s by Moana Lott and called:-

“Some lads want to down ale on a Saturday, I just want to down a manager”

If you want a bet on Wigan to go down I’ll give you 3 to 1, but you have to put a minimum of £20 on.

I’ll PM you my seat number and if you’re in the west stand we can meet up on Saturday to shake hands on it.
Just stop this constant moaning its giving me, the dog, the gold fish, my mistress, the postman and the England 2018 world cup bid team an headache FFS.
