Quote – “Wigan have won none of their last 11 Premier League games against Fulham (W0 D6 L5)”

Bit of a bogey team for us, wont surprise me if we draw… or lose!

    Or win.

How we have done against a team in previous years has no bearing whatsoever on tomorrow’s game. If managers and players get it into their heads that they will lose “because they always do against these” then we may as well all go home. Paul Jewell used to instil that idea against Liverpool.

But Roberto had a different mindset against Man U last season.

Tomorrow will prove difficult, as Fulham are no pushovers, but we should be able to beat them.

only 893 tickets left in all home ends 2moro (not including fulham)?????
      should be good then!!!

I will be amazed if there are only 893 empty seats in the home ends (more like 8,093), even with the ticket offer they’ve got on. With all due respect, Wigan V Fulham isn’t much of a draw for any casual fans.

And even if it does happen, given the dissappointing crowd we had on for the first game V Chelsea, the European Champions, it would say a lot for the mindset of folk in our town. I.E. Tighter than cramp.

Ah yes, but how many are give aways? How many will Fulham bring? 400 or so? One of lower crowds of season today.

On sat that we get all three points, not be easy against a Fulham side full of experience

Possible if both Berbatov AND Ramis (Alcaraz back in) don’t turn up.

UNFORTUNATELY BOTH DID (BERBATOV INSTRUMENTAL IN 1ST GOAL)

Hoping Rodallega doesn’t do a Roberts (score against us!)

SO MUCH FOR HOPE. WITH OUR DEFENCE …?

Still a tough ask, given our prior record against them.

LETHARGIC ATTITUDE / BEATEN BEFORE WE STARTED = ((A) CONCERNED BY PRIOR RECORD VS BOGEY TEAM OR (B) WIGAN (CERTAIN INDIVIDUALS)JUST COULDN’T BE ARS*D ???

Clean sheet would be quite an achievement !![/quote]

MISSION IMPOSSIBLE(WHEN RAMIS, CALDWELL AND WATSON – ALL THREE – CAN’T SEE OFF RUIZ FOR 2ND GOAL…ENOUGH SAID)

        Other :

Ben Watson has never been able to take a set-piece to save his life and yet we still persist (FFS, ……..step forward MAYNOR or someone else can’t be any worse …

McCarthy – ball distribution woeful at times.

Hopefully, Alcaraz will be back for Sunderland

Ramis was no worse than Caldwell today (mind you, ball distribution was poor…balls lumped forward in hope). At least managed to make a relative success of presenting some pressies to raffle winners in the Hospitality Lounge after the game (i.e. find his man) :cheer: :cheer:

        McManaman…lively when he came on.

Why didn’t we start the game with Miyaichi (taking place of Di Santo). Inject a little pace…put Fulham on the backfoot. Give the young enthusiastic young ‘un a chance !

Disappointing to hear mixed reception received by Rodallega at the beginning. Respect given only on refusal by same to celebrate his goal… good one it was too.

Game today very much reminiscent of same fixture 11 months ago(0-2). And yet we have supposedly moved on to another level since. Last 10 games of 2011/12 already something of the distant past.

Whelan ought to take a leaf out of Abramovich’s book, get down to the training ground, call the guys round and ask them how the same team as last year (pretty much so) can make such a half-arsed attempt this, early doors. Not acceptable.

Even Bobby, post-match, is now talking of opening up the competition in the grab for 1st 11 places.

Defence, 2 goals conceded every league game, bar Southampton where we got lucky, tells its own story (whole team implicated).
